Ususally, you get "busted". It takes your points away from your commission. If you want a promotion in rank you need certain points. If you drop below those points they can take your rank away.

could happen esp with the way the navy feels about and public drunkenness. 10-15yrs ago i would say no way but in today's navy its so different. I am not casting judgment or condoning such behavior all i am saying is that the navy has changed, I know that enlisted person would be hung out to dry so I would hope they would do the same to a officer. I am a ret enlisted and I am very happy to be that way I work for the navy as civil service so i see what goes on on the ships that I do repair work on.

Depends. Was he on duty? Probably not. Was he on call? If so, yes, possibilty. Is his position highly available, meaning are there a ton of people that have his same job, then he might be. My husbands job was over recruited and they have too many as it is. If someone in my husbands command has a dui, they're out. Plain and simple. Some one was at the bar before going to work to be on watch and he was kicked out. The Navy is cracking down on this stuff. If you can't behave yourself, then you don't belong in the military.

If you are Court Marshalled,
Ask the Navy JAG for Cdr. Harm Rabb, & Maj. McKenzie
to be your legal counsels
and Admiral Chegwidden as the Judge!
You can't lose!

Depends on the circumstances and the severity of the fight. I would say the officer probably would get a severe reprimand but would not get kick out.

Well, it would certainly depend on the details, wouldn't it?

If he was in a homosexual leather bar drunkenly fighting over who had first dibs on tossing Mr. Slave's salad, then probably, yes.

If he was in an upscale nightclub and forced to use physical violence to stop some drunken slob from molesting a helpless woman, probably not.

The devil is in the details, no?

It depends on the severity of the situation. In most cases no. He or she would be reprimanded which could result in temporary lost of rank and pay. But there is the posibility of a discharge from the service or court marshall.

Pretty likely! Seen them kicked out for less than this. "Behavior unbecoming of an officer."
