I would guess that she has a poor/nonexistant relationship with her own father.
If the 33 year old guy really respects and loves her, he will wait until she turns 18 at least. If he is/was married, I would guess that he sees something of his wife at a younger age in the 17 year old.

I think it's wrong for 1 reason. That is: That she is still a minor. When she turns 18, I think it's ok as long as they really love and respect each other. Personally, I wouldn't go out with someone that much older/younger than me, but if that's what you really want, then there's no law against it!

there's nothing wrong but since they respect each other then they should know that the girl is not ready till she turns into 18.
It can be normal if a guy is 10+ yrs elder than girl, i wouldnt say that he's got issues because love is something that happens anyplace and anytime.

Too young - the girl just has not matured enough to know what she wants out of life, hasn't experienced enough, and if she settled with this guy, by the time she was 22 she would regret all that she has missed.
He on the other hand is trying to recapture his youth and truly how does he even begin to fit in with her friends? He can't -
besides the obivious - ILLEGAL!

Damn lucky guy!!!! Hey, it is a free country. If you feel the choice is right for you...why are you even asking the question?
If you are afriad of making a mistake...don't be. The biggest mistake is not taking a chance or not trying something because other people tell you to. We will all make mistakes in life...that is just part of it. Live the life you want to live...so you will be able to look back and never have to say, "I wish I would have done that".

wait until the girl is 18 - a 33 yr old guy should know better than dating a minor.

she´s just a teenager and in a completely different phase in life than him...I wouldn´t encourage the relationship as so to say, maybe when she´s a few years older and they still love each other..but in the meantime she deserves time to live her life...are you the 17-year-old girl??

Age is a state of mind; and what you do on your own time is your own business in my book. At 33 he is ready for housebreaking and at 17 you are at a mental level with him. Men mature behind the curve and women mature ahead of the curve so you are both mentally 25; which is a good starting point.

Well, as someone close to that guys age, and being close to a 17 year old (niece) and witnessing her and some of her friends, I would say this guy is verging on pedophile. Not quite, but close.
