It is more along the lines of wanting to make a difference in the lives of those you believe to be on the wrong path in life. You hope you can guide them back on the correct path to Jesus and God. Then you realize that the entire christian belief system has become so compromised by liars and charlatans over the course of many lifetimes, that you feel that you are doing nothing more than living and preaching a lie. That is the reason I left Christianity behind for Wicca. Now I am happier, feel more fulfilled, and and do not feel the constant pressures that Christianity mounts on you.

I was called. Family members usually think something is wrong with you to choose a life of serving others without a very good income.

Definitely called. As for family members...I am an only child, my father died the year I entered seminary (he was agnostic and we never discussed it). My decision to follow God's call surprised my mom. She did get to see me Ordained to the Diaconate...but she didn't live long after that. She never saw me Ordained to the Priesthood.
Well...she really did. She had the best seat in the house!

No pastor will tell the truth, yet the word pastor does not belong to any of them.
