After hearing about the Michael Vick situation yesterday (the dog-fighting indictment), something occured to me:

Why is it that we, as a society, punish people so severely for harming animals....but yet.....sex offenders get a slap in the hand and put back into society as if it were nothing? It's as if animals are more important than humans........how backwards is that?

The same question could apply to abortion doctors......who murder daily.

Your thoughts?

Vick makes me sick. Needless to say, that is THE topic of the Atlanta media today.

Other than your viewpoint on abortion, I agree.

That said, I also don't understand why a sex offender has to register where they live, and in some states, even place a sign on their front door that reads, "SEX OFFENDER LIVES HERE", or something to that effect, when murderers, rapists, and thieves can easily integrate back into society. Personally, I don't care to live next door to any of them.

And I hope that bastard never puts on a Falcons uniform again.

I am all for tearing people a new one that hurt animals.

Why? Because they are defenseless to the whims of man and putting them in situations when they have to fight is just cruel. It would be like god throwing two people into an arena and say kill each other now and the loser goes to hell. If you both refuse then you both go to hell.

When someone kicks a dog or hits an animal it puts me into a blind rage because it is nothing more than the act of a coward who wants something to just beat on. Well if I am around I have no problem saying come and beat on me you pos.

Sex offenders should be punished harder than they currently are but it has to be a legit reason not like some guy getting a BJ and the prosecutor deciding it was rape.

Abortion doctors do not murder I am sorry if you want to make that claim then lest start prosecuting people for Neglect when they have a miscarriage.

Who says sex offenders just get a slap on the hand? They get punished severely and then, some people want them branded when they finally get out into society again. And I am all for punishment of people who hurt animals...and in Florida, where you live, that punishment is appropriately severe. And as to the doctors, they are not breaking any law when they perform certain procedures and I would say, most doctors don't have the stomach to do abortions unless they are therapeutic. I know I wouldn't ever want to work in an abortion clinic as a nurse but I would assist in an abortion to save a woman's life.

Actually, we as a society hardly ever punish people for cruelty to animals. Even egregius violations of animal rights usually go unpunished because laws in most states treat animals as property instead of living, sentient beings. Animal-cruelty officials are overworked and understaffed, so only the absolute worst cases are even pursued.

True, many sex offenders go unpunished (some for the same reasons I listed above) but most of them are given more than a slap on the wrist and many (most) of them are put on police lists that enable almost anyone to locate their residence, if not be subjected to search and questioning the next time any sex offense occurs in their area.

The key to addressing ALL these problems is improved upbringing, including holding people responsible for their actions. But that is hard to do when large segments of our society don't believe in absolutes and reject the importance of morality and family relationships.

It says he might desire to get carry of as much as 3 years in reformatory, yet whilst it particularly is a typical offense, he probable will serve little or no time in any respect. Supposedly there's a good correlation between people who're prepared to dedicate acts of cruelty to animals and people who will later do those issues to human beings. He desires some style of punishment and a few style of rehabilitation. To the different answerer--the article did no longer say the suspect grow to be a buddy of the autistic boy. The tortoise grow to be a buddy to him.

I think we (the USA) have a warped sense of what is right. Cruelty to animals is punished but what about not just the sex offenders but those that physically or mentally abuse their families who are either given the slap on the hand or just ignored. My sister lived with a husband who for years mentally abused her....told her she needed to go to school, when she did told her she should be working....etc...which led to the use of drugs to "get away" before she finally divorced him.

I just heard the USA spends more money on their pets than they do their children.

I think in the case of Abortion Doctors....many just choose to ignore it because it doesn't affect them personally and since NOTHING is done...the really radicals do things like bomb abortion clinics which isn't right either.

Unfortunately, unless we turn to the Lord there is no hope for the healing of our country.

I agree with you totally on this...I have 2 beautiful lil girls...i could never imagine someone harming them...i love my girls very much...but at the same time i own 2 pit bulls...they are the greatest dogs...i dont understand how someone could do what they do to them either...not only does it give society a bad image when people fight bullies...it also gives the breed of dog a bad image!!!

Your post script grenade was an interesting addition. I don't think you can compare them and find a rhyme or reason when it comes to sentencing guidelines. And, the abortion doctors are not doing anything illegal. Good luck in your quest for the truth.

Your thinking is 100% correct. I agree with everything you wrote. Since sex offenders cannot be cured why do we let them out to destroy another child?
