Depends on how you look at the death threats now. Did you take them seriously then and now as time went by just seemed like steam and stupidity rolling out of their mouth? Or did you go buy a gun and seriously thought of defending yourself and family? If its the later, forgive, move on, but just keep a memo to self about that one. If it was the former, just probably a childish act to get a reaction, either way, move on.

Greetings Friend,
Of course! Anyone can, if he is willing. Besides, who is the you you are referring to? Are you a body? Is a body who you really are? Of course not, so who you really are can never be threaten, nor can you ever die, unless you believe you are a body, which even if you did believe you were a body, would not mean that you are a body. You are who God made you and not who you think you are.
Further, if you do not forgive and be reconciled, you will just reinforce, in the one who threatened you and in yourself, that you are a body. So, you would be teaching yourself and the other something that is not true - that you are a body and can be attacked. I hope this helps.
sending love,

In a situation like that reconcile is the same as recoil. No such thing as a death THREAT.

I understand the whole idea of forgiveness but I would be extremely standoffish to someone who made an actual death threat against me. I don't believe I would be able to bring myself to forgive that person. Not to mention I am not sure it would be smart. Who's to say they still wouldn't want to kill you.

Why did they do it? Yes if they were blackmailed to do it, pshcologically ill and now treated, or threatened if they didn't. No if they did it of their own free will and took action to put their threats into practice.

Why would you want to? How could you ever trust them after that? If it's that you're married and you are trying to save your marriage or something, then you should look into serious counseling. But my second question still applies.

You know, thats a bit like sticking your head in a lions mouth and flicking his love spuds with a wet towel.
It's just asking for trouble.

You can forgive them. They obviously have issues.
But be smart and stay far away from them. You might also get a stay away order. Call the police station, explain what happened, and ask how you do this.
