Why do the Calvinist sects of the christian faith portraying the?

catholic priests as the only child mollesters when there are plenty of casses involving the ministers of thier faith mollesting children? Is it a case of ye without sin cast the first stone? Or a simple case of bigotry?

Not a Catholic, just don't understand the un christian attacks when both groups have sick mollesters within.

Most protostant groups are calvinists if you didn't know. The concept of revealed religion comes from John Calvin.

I think you meant Protestant.

And you are exactly right. While I was in university, I met many seminary students. Allot of them were trying to get rid of personal problems by serving God. Some of the problems were just everyday sins, that they couldn't stop themselves from, but others were very serious and they should have been seeing psychologists not paying pennance by giving their lives to the ministry.

This happens in almost all denominations. Ask yourself why so many 'new pastors' seem so effeminate, or socially mal adjusted. The truth is that denominational Christianity breeds them, and doesn't really do enough internal policing to help those in need. They just graduate them and hoiste them on unsuspecting fellowships. The reason for this is because it is extremely taboo to questions someone's motive when it comes to faith. This creates terrible situations, which we are seeing now.

Protestants probably should consider Jesus' words about throwing stones before enjoying the current catholic misery, because it is coming for them next.

First of all, I am a Calvinist, and I don't portray Catholic priests as the ONLY child mollesters. None of my Calvinist friends say this. There is no group or person besides Christ that is perfect and the Calvinists are actually the ones that best point this out. Look at the doctrine of Total Depravity.

And no, Calvinists are in the minority, although there has been kind of a resurgence in recent history. The main Calvinist groups are Orothodox Presbyterians, Presbyterian (P.C.A.), Reformed Baptists, and some Southern Baptist churches that are known as "Founders friendly" because of the Founders Ministries wing in the Southern Baptist church. Pretty much every other protestant group isn't really Calvinistic. Lutherans aren't really calvinistic anymore (at least, in my experience with them).

As a Calvinist who hangs out with a lot of Calvinists, I can honestly say that Calvinists are not the ones insisting Catholic priests are the only child molesters or that all/most Catholic priests are child molesters (which I think is probably a more accurate perception of what a larger group of people seem to be saying).

My experience has been that those making sweeping generalizations about Catholic priests and pedophelia tend to be either Atheists, the unchurched, or any group that was already strongly anti-Catholic anything (such as Fundamentalist Dispensationalist groups--which are NOT Calvinist). That said, I'm sure those of other persuasions have also made such broad statements and there are many in the above-mentioned groups (Athiest, unchurched, etc.) who have NOT made such statements.

That said, your point is well-taken. Sexual deviants such as child molesters are themselves a diverse group that can probably be found in groups of people ascribing to a wide variety of philisophical and spiritual persuasions.

In response to additional details--"Calvinism" refers to a specific group of Protestants which are, in the current day, not in the majority (google "T.U.L.I.P" for more info. on Calvinism). Those specifically NOT Calvinist include Methodists, Wesleyan, Nazarene, any of the liberal branches of the mainline denominations, some Baptists and the list goes on and on...

I never heard anyone , of any persuasion, say that Catholic Priests are the ONLY child molesters. Where did you hear such a thing?
