It is the blueprint for life as we know it:
Creation, salvation, eternity....etc......

Firstly, you should know that a book is the most powerful weapon.
Secondly, prophecy (nevuah) is a type of knowledge which has nothing to do with the scientific method (madah). In general, all types of Abrahamic monotheism are very powerful because they include, in a higher or lower level, elements of Divine inspiration.
Moreover, the Christian Bible has its origins on the Jewish TaNaKh, a collection of books written under direct inspiration by G-d. So the Christian Bible is a powerful book.
The Q'ran also includes some Biblical injuctions, so it is also a very powerful book.

sorry gotta say something to primoa1970 first.
god DID NOT write the bible (thus why there is the book of matthew, john, bob and whatever the rest of them are called.
"God" has never written anything. even organised religons hav been forced to admit that there are not even any scriptures written from when "jesus" was "alive".
and the problem is you have multiple religions saying that "god" wrote their book and that all others are wrong...
added to the fact that the bible avaliable now is not an original version, as it was in a different language. So there are probably large parts of the bible which are actually mistranslated.

Because the books I base MY belief on are peer-reviewed, and admit their margins for error, and their results are reproducible in a laboratory, and they are regularly updated and revised as new experiments and research bring new facts to light.

Because God knows what is best for us because he created us so it makes sense for us to follow his Law and the way of life he has laid down for us. Otherwise we are in the hands of our ego and the one it listens to (Satan). We are not this ego so we need to know how to subjugate it for it is doomed, but our soul is not doomed unless it listens to the whims of the ego and thus stays attached to it.
Why would I trust my ego-self as a guide over the One who made me - God (Allah).
I place faith in the word of God only from the Qu'ran because this is the only book that has been preserved by God, as promised in the Qu'ran:
"We have, without doubt, sent down the Message; and We will assuredly guard it (from corruption). [Quran 15:9]"
"Nay!, this is a Glorious Qur'an, (Inscribed) in a Tablet Preserved! " [Quran 85:21-22]

Why is your belief so strongly based on your own opinion? Can't other people have their opinions and beliefs without overly self righteous people calling them silly? Why do you feel the need to debase other peoples belief system? Does it make you feel better about yourself? I think you really need to ask yourself these questions to get to the root of your issues.

Let me guess... because it says it's the word of God... because I can feel in my heart that it's true... because my mommy told me so... I was told not to pay attention to the man behind the curtain... etc, etc.
As for me, I learned to verify sources of information a long time ago, and that's why I'm not a believer of any religion.

i agree it looks like childrens storys to stop them being NAUGHTY dont do this or else this will happen blahblahblah its stupid as is religion altogether !!!!!!!!! and and ps there is scientific proof which explains most of the stories in the bibal AS SCIENCE not GOD but SCIENCE and yet after it bein prooven to be rubbish ppl still refuse to believe that perhaps there is no reason for us being here maybe just maybe we are oversized organisms !!!! makes sense to me xx
