OK, this is so random and stupid, but it's so early and I'm so bored that I just decided to ask this anyway: For anyway who has seen "RENT" or listened to the OBC recording, I noticed that in "Today 4 U", Angel sings "Like Thelma and Louise did when they got the blues." My question is, "THelma & Louise" is a movie that came out in 1991. "RENT" takes place in 1989. How the hell would ANgel have known about Thelma and Louise? Just curious.

While RENT takes place in 1989, it first went into production in the mid 90's. Guess Jonathan Larson didn't realize his Thelma and Louise reference was a little off that mark when he wrote the song.

The reference is made in the song because the play was in 1996, a few years after the film came out. Therefore the reference would fit. It is the film that is set in 1989/1990
