Baghdad forensic pathologist on a call out after a suicide bomber attacks a market. Pretty gruesome for one. Then where do you begin - which body part first? Fear of being killed whilst carrying out the work. Unlikely to get paid or low pay. Fear for your family.
How much can you take doing that job?

Am 56, have been working non-stop since I was 17. So far, hardest jobs have been parenting (see other responses) and teaching teenagers, but the job I do now is hard, caring 14 hours a day for old people with Alzheimers, for £6.34 an hour. They are all over the place, scrambled, mixed up, repetitive, doubly incontinent, lost the ability to read and write, no spatial awareness, have to be helped to eat, etc. I have a BA, an MA, and a PhD, but I choose this work because it needs to be done. Very vulnerable people have to be looked after, if they aren't they are cast out into society, onto the streets, where they will have no hope of surviving. But when they are safe and comfortable and well cared for, they can be so much FUN. The sort of fun you won't find anywhere else. Put music on and get them dancing. They are totally unself-conscious.
But they will not get 'better'. They will deteriorate and die. I have worked in hospices and in pain relief centres and in rehabilitation centres, and have looked after individual people who just need company, outings, etc plus pain relief and help with incontinence and brain damage, etc. THERE IS SO MUCH TO DO FOR OTHER PEOPLE. I am well, fit, healthy. But there is so much to be done for other people. Please give up what you are doing and help someone else.

Being a parent has to be the hardest job in the world. Unlike other jobs you cannot leave at the end the day and go home to relax. You are on call 24/7 like it or not, you are cook, cleaner, referee. You cannot take early retirement and the pay is lousy lol......

The hardest job in the world is trying to find a real job when you are qualified, experienced and willing...but there are 1000 other people in line for that same job...
Beat that!

being a chef is pretty hard, hot kitchen, under pressure and long hours.
I did the job for 10 years, and I was the only one who didn't smoke, although I did drink too much, same as the rest of them. But it is just so stressful, I think jobs like that are a vocation.
I worked in retail too, which was soooo easy in comparison, but, sometimes customers can be too much, but then any job dealing with the public can be stressful, you need to let the whingers pass you by

Anything that has to do with hog poop, or any poop for that matter.
Watch "Dirty Jobs" on the Discovery channel. Mike Rowe does a lot of horrible jobs.
