No, independent thinkers are just smart enough to figure out that societal standards were created and massaged into our brains to control the human mind and keep it from brilliance. Government and church are the two main responsible parties that made people fear thinking independently by making people believe they might ruin their lives if they deviate from the societal standards. Societal standards are crap. Don't get that confused with the law, though.
