The Israel history that they can tell. The neigbour courntries such as Turkey and Arrabian, Persian, Hungarian History to consider inside. Some of them can proof but some of them lost. From the religious point of view, it is a good religious at that moment. Before bible, it should be Hindru or fire religious, moon religious and sun, sea, desert religious. Among these religious , the Jews bible was the best. Then come out with Christisn and Moslim.
Moslim is also a good religious but their history is so cool and brutal especially while Momamas Ali fighting for Persian. Their rules were changed. Momamas Alie step wife created a new religious from Moslim.
Then the rules changed more.
From the History point of view; there is a good, there is a bad. We cannot say Jew is good, Moslim is bad because all of them were human history were brutal and selfish.
They are fighting each other for quite a long time. Their history are killed, conquor, raped, collapse for foods, harvey land, self honour etc. Now is a time to sit down discussing their future then creat the so-call heaven.

It is "historically"correct and your not reading it as such. Perhaps you would like to read about how the Old and New Testament may be more accurate then we know , but look at it with a new twist. The ideas passed down and taught in "church" or by organized "christian religion" is skewed.
For a fresh look:
Check out some of the ideas by Zecharia Sitchin on the bible stories, he has some interesting takes on them.
Some of the ideas are not exactly "conventional" , but ring more true to me then what I was spoon fed in church growing up.

Open your mind a bit and check it out.
here's a link to some of his ideas about the origin of Adam and Eve.

History is a collection of the retelling of events, most of human history is presented to us today to fit the agenda of those in power.
P.s. many older texts and older religions back up Z. Sitchins ideas as well.

There used to be a series on the Discovery Channel called "Unsolved History" where they would use scientific methods to test history. Most of their findings contradicted the official stories in our history books.

It was an interesting show. I don't know why they cancelled it.

Most history books are researched, have historical documents and archaeological artifacts supporting their claims, are peer reviewed and have their facts checked, etc.

Scripture merely says, "This is how it is; and if any facts are discovered that contradicts this scripture, then the facts MUST be wrong". No debate, no acknowledgment of imperfect knowledge or even the possibility that less-than-honorable people with an agenda to push might have modified or falsified things within the scripture.

Given man's propensity for (and history of) deceiving themselves and deceiving others, I know which method *I* prefer to use to get my information....

Most of it was written way after the fact. Stories were told and finally around Moses' time they were written out.

So over time as stories are told things change here and there. That's why the bible was never meant to be a scholarly work but just a spiritual one.

That's why it takes faith, the bible is full of "by faith" it's impossible to please god without faith. some history books are around and that's why our history is constantly changing because we have been lied to , we have covered over a lot of history.
