I don't think you should be allowed to choose your religion until you are at least 18. I mean, what if your parents pick the wrong one and you go to hell?

I was by default atheist because my parents were and never taught me about religions, but I've looked into a few of them over the years and they all sound preposterous, so I chose to stay with it.

If I'd looked at, say, Christianity and thought it sounded good and something I could believe in, I would have converted.

when i was a kid i was brought up to be catholic but as i got older that religion was not for me. religion is religion and the beliefs are pretty much the same in christianity, there are some differences though. pick what you feel works for you. as long as you believe who cares what you pick. just stay away from so called religions that believe in animal sacrifice and violence.

I was being groomed by my family to enter the Lutheran priesthood and did quite well actually. But along comes my duty to country so i entered the military, did one tour of Viet Nam and came back with no intention of ever serving any religion.

Now, in my later years I have chosen what I feel is the true faith and that is Islam. I wish it was something I had done long ago.

What happens when you are 18, do you get enlightened ...
nothing happens you still are a immature person
you never will be able to know the truth of religion until you die..

its the truth when you see you creator
they you learn what the truth was
never before that
so its better your parents choose it for you,,,,you are still a kid

My parents picked Baptist.
I picked Jesus and decided to be a baptist by conviction.

It's a good thing religion doesn't determine whether you go to heaven or hell. It is your faith and acceptance of Jesus Christ as your Savior

Religion is not something to be picked. After all,all the religions more or less preach the same.Stay where you are and try to know more about your religion and be true to your country and religion.

I picked my own, when I was twenty-five, almost 26.

Even people who are raised in a certain religion can choose their own.

Good point. But, like everything in life, there comes a time when a person will make the conscious decision, the choice, if they will continue in the beliefs they were taught.
