Chances are, they see all the corruption, and don't want any part of it.
A true believer would, but they'd have a very hard time.

I'm a Bible-believing Christian who works for the government. Actually, I believe that my government job helps me carry out Christ's commission of helping the poor and needy. In my government position I conduct community needs assessments; develop programs to meet those needs (particularly for low-income working families); secure funding for those programs; ensure those carrying out the programs are doing so in accordance with the law (i.e. not engaging in nepotism in the awarding of contracts, etc.); and evaluate whether programs are efficient and effective. Why would I not want to take part in that?
My husband, also a Bible-believing Christian who is government worker, keeps society safe and secure while helping those in need (i.e. a police officer).
As far as I'm aware, Christ never told anyone to quit their government jobs. In fact, the Bible praises numerous godly government workers or those who helped the government: the Roman Centurion in the New Testament whose daughter Jesus healed, King David, Queen Esther, Haman, etc.

God uses people in all levels of society. What would you like to see, all government offices run by pagans with no children of God there to pray for them or exert a godly influence on the decision making?
Philippians 4:22 All the saints greet you, especially those of Caesar's household.
Romans 13:1 Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. 2 Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. 3 For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, 4 for he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God's wrath but also for the sake of conscience. 6 For the same reason you also pay taxes, for the authorities are ministers of God, attending to this very thing.

Work is within the interest of any person whether a christian or. muslim or hindu man or anybody else. Religion is not connected in any manner on a work in the government or private sector.

They probably realize that politics are so corrupt....that they don't want any part of it anymore as a believer.
I sure wouldn't want to be in office. I love the Lord too much to ever be a politician.

There is honor among thieves. A Christian person will act as such no matter what their occupation. There are good people in government as there are good people everywhere.

People would have to go with their consciences. Each situation is different. If their government or job was doing something opposing God, they would probably want to find a different job.

If you want to be part of the problem then quit. If you want to be part of the solution then stay and work in Christ.
