She sent me £50 for my birthday. And I have to write more than just 'thank you'!

Thank You Message For Grandmother

Hi...
once upon a time, long long ago, in a land where grandmothers were held up in esteem, and in many functional families, they were very importand..
well.. (in my time), when i was a teen, i was just too busy for my grandmother i took her for granted, and it was more a a chore to spend time with her, go shopping or anything,, and she was so depressed when my grandfather died, and was so lonely,,
I WAS AN IMMATURE JERK,, WHO ALWAYS PUT OFF ANYTHING,, SHE ASK OF ME, WE SHARED A BEDROOM, AFTER GRANDFATHER DIED.... .

My granny, was so sweet and kind, and loved me very much and she did a lot of .things for me, that took effort, and love, yet i was not very enthused about doing anything with her,,
She died suddenly one day, no warning, etc,, I am so sorry, that i did not do for her kind little gestures of love, listen to her, spend time with her, buy her flowers, and take her to church or breakfast,, things like that,,
ALL MY GREAT INTENTIONS, AND "SHOULD HAVE DONES".. -*/that i did not do,,
If you love your grandma, and mom, and anyone , don't postpone ever showing it, or saying it, because you and i have no control over other peoples destiny,, so thank your grandmother, but if this message reaches you at any level and you understand, just make her feel like she is a big deal,,and i am sure you are to her,,, and if you only knew how much joy the little things you do for people who love you..REALLY MEAN,,

Good luck.

What a wonderful gift! Why don't you go and see her. Break the ice. Perhaps she would love to see you.

Or if this is too much too soon, depending upon why you havn't seen her telephone her.

But on the other hand send her a really nice card to her saying you appreciate the gift.

She obviously loves you and thinks a lot of you. It is a very generous gift.

Good luck

Grandmother,

Thank you so much for the money that you sent to me for my birthday. I wish that we could visit each other more often. Time seems to fly by and we seldom stop to slow down and make time for the important people in our lives. The next day that you are available, please give me a call. I would like to use that money to take you to lunch so that we can reconnect.
Family is so important!
Love and prayers,

XXXX

How ungrateful you are!! It doesn't matter if you have never seen your grandmother. If she sent you a gift, you send a thank you and be nice about it. Learn proper manners.

take a picture of what was purchased with the money and send it to her (make sure you are in the pic, too); tell her you miss her and you love her.

'thanks for the money gramma. i got this really cool ------------. here's a picture of it. i wish you could have been here to help me pick it out, but i know how hard it is to visit on a whim. thank you so much.
hope to see you very soon, i miss you
love,
grand daughter'

Write your thoughts. Letter as opposed to a note, a thank you note.
