i just bought a 89 mustang and i was replacing the spark plug wires. yet i forgot where they go in the distubutor cap. does anyone know how they go?

You should find the firing order stamped on the engine somewhere, and you should find the distributor pins in sequential order with # 1 marked somewhere on the inside or outside of the distributor cap.

Well, its going to be hard for anyone to help you without knowing if you have the 5.0 V-8, the V-6 or the 2.3 litre 4 banger under the hood.

Not off hand, but a Chilton or Haynes manual will tell you. You might even go to a Ford dealer and they can give you the firing order too.

Before you removed the wires you should have marked the wires going to each cylinder
