Have you researched other religions?
Have you researched sun-god worship related to the rebirth of the sun at the winter solstice?

I seriously would like to know... If you haven't I want to encourage all Christians to do so.

Yes I have but that has nothing to do with God. {Christianity} is what I practice. {It's what I am} But see my friend Christianity is not who I Worship. God is who I Worship. Who I follow. If I followed just something called Christianity and not God what would be the reason to go to Church? It would be senseless now wouldn't it? {5:52 a.m. - Well I had to look at this another way to because yes God is in Christianity, and you have to follow your Faith I was not seeing it clearly a second ago. And no I will not read that because I would rather not have satan use anything to try to discern me from the truth.

I think that is a good question, I think that everyone should read about other religions too. Just because you research about a religion different from yours, that doesn't mean your faith has wavered. That is of course if you think you can be easily swayed.
If you believe strongly in your religion then to learn about other religions should not bother you. In fact it would make you a more understanding and compassionate person. I see other people saying "I'm happy w/ my religion", but that wasn't the question.
I don't have a religion, so I have studied a lot of different faiths, so I understand completely why you asked and the correlation between the winter solstice and all. Good question!

If they did they would discover they are practicing Sun-God worship because "Christianity" was converted into that by the Romans way back when. Jesus was born in July (the Romans never conducted a census in the winter) you DOLTS...not three days after the winter solstice. Satan is a very talented scammer he has all these people thinking they are worshiping the son of god when they are really being good Pagans.

Why, yes I have. What we sometimes forget is that Christianity is an Eastern Religion that grew out of the Jewish faith. Can't speak for others, but when I stake my salvation on the ideas in a book, I want to be certain of that book. I have studied Bible history, Taoism, Buhdism, and a sprinkling of others. I am not convinced of the inerrency of the translations of the Bible, but studying other faiths has done nothing but strengthen my Christian faith. In fact, i see many of the lessons more clearly by understaning the context. Do your research, and draw your own conclusions. As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. peace

I have researched almost every world religion and over 200 familial and sect religions (cults).

I think you are talking about the sun-god known by his followers as the "Good shepherd." Where his priests were called "Father."

The Sun-God that in an ancient inscription told his followers to eat of his body and drink of his blood and you will have eternal life.

And this was NOT Jesus.. The name eludes me but I had read a long article about a sun-god who's religion was so much like Christianity it was scary.

Ill have to look in my library for that article...

Serious question for you

Have you ever researched Christianity?

Just some perspective. You're no more right than anyone else, and presuming not only that no christians ever did their homework, but that the other idea you were presenting is somehow better (I find the solstice, maypole crowd to be more fundamentalist and defensive of their beliefs than just about anyone else out there), just makes you look more ignorant than the christians you're attempting to attack.

I did when I was in my late 20's... was hoping I could put together a hodgepodge so that they all could be true, but found that God is going to be nothing like I want him to be. It's not up to God to conform to what I want or think, it's the other way around. So.... after looking in detail at various other religions/outlooks and their claims, and examining my doubts to my satisfaction, I settled on what I believe to be true. Everyone's gotta look in the mirror and ask the important questions and come up with their own answers in their own way.

Yes, I have looked at other religions and I find the Creator in the rising and the setting of the sun - the source of all life. When you have read all your books, listened to all your teachers, then man, look to yourself there is none higher. We are all nourished by the sun and it has been worshiped throughout time - to me, it represents the sustaining of all life.

i've researched various religions, but never the sun-god religion you mentioned. maybe i'll look into it. i'm pretty sure this is some kind of attempt to get me to believe christianity came from paganism, but my view is based on the fact that we were made in God's image and likeness, and so we're bound to have things in common, no matter who or what we worship.

Yes, somewhat. But I think any similarities are either from pagans borrowing from Christianity, or Satan manipulating what God was planning to do before Christ came to earth. Satan knows the scriptures well, and what God had prophesied in advance. He could have easily made sure there were perversions of those prophecies around to confuse people, and those perversions are much easier to refute than Christianity is.
