I've kept it in my freezer as long as a year (12 months), however, I also bag chicken breasts in individual freezer bags, so that I can pull only the amount I need out at a time. I have found that this way, the food stays fresher longer. Just remember to remove ALL AIR from the bag so that the food really is fresh when you thaw and cook it.

Congrats on the new house! It's a lot of fun!

Congratulations. I believe the timing is 6 months, but you really need to check in the instruction manual on your freezer as each type might be different. There might also be a chart on the inside of the door which will give you some indication as to how long something can be expected to last.

It all depends on how it's packaged. Usually anywhere from 6-12 months. Usually lasts longer in it's original packaging (at least that's what I've found). With freezer bags or wrapping it up in saran wrap and aluminum foil you need to check it every few months to make sure it doesn't have freezer burn. So anything after 6 months just check to make sure.

Even the guidelines are only guidelines!
You can usually go over them because Companies are safeguarding themselves against litigation.
However, food can deteriorate over a time but still be safe to eat. Overwrapping will help prevent freezer burn and drying out.
Pork products tend to go rancid when kept for an extended length of time.
I have 8 drawers in my freezer and they were supposed to be saved for particular products - top one for fish, 2nd for beef, 3rd for lamb, 4th pork, 5th poultry, 6th dairy products, 7th fruit & veg, 8th - miscellaneous (bread, etc)
I used to keep a small card index box with cards for each drawer and every time I put something new in the freezer, I noted it together with the date. Knew exactly what was in there - then my husband retired, and now I can't find anything.
If you have a chest freezer, it's useful to have different coloured string bags for instant recognition, e.g. red-meat, blue-fish, green-veges, etc. You just lean in and pull out the right coloured bag. Did this with my first chest freezer back in 1964.

Providing it was purchased fresh (or prepackaged frozen) it will keep for up to 6 months. That's the recommendation on the freezer bags I buy, which has a storage chart on the packaging.

Depends on the freezer rating.

If you feed and water it and clean it it should live for some time. However i warn against shutting the door and turning the freezer on.
