I was thinking of doing this once a month instead of once a week because I'm scared of damaging my metabolism... This seems like a healthy diet because of the veggies and fruits... but is it safe for my metabolism???

It shouldn't slow down your metabolism. However, as trendy diet fads go, it will not help you lose real weight. These rapid weight loss diets make you lose water weight, which you will regain shortly.

However, fruits and veggies are always better than processed sugar snack foods. This stuff actually slows your metabolism as it is higher in fats and processed sugars, which your body doesn't always get around to breaking down.

A proper diet will do much better for stabilizing and improving your metabolism.

The premise of the diet seems to be fruit and vegetables. Toss in some whole grains, some beans for protein, and well, you've got the basis for a well-rounded vegan "diet". Go figure. Fruits and vegetables are chock full of good stuff and have no fat. I used to live on fruits and veggies and beans and some whole grains and was actually underweight. Now, I still live on that stuff, just in larger quantities and six months into my pregnancy, I've only gained about 20 pounds. It's only been in the past couple of weeks that I've started to even look pregnant.

Yes, protein does seem to be included in this diet. However, I have seen nothing of whole grains.

Possibly, but only a little.

Fruits are very healthy for you; they contain vitamins, minerals, and phytochemicals. However, they also contain refined sugars (also known as simple sugars) and these have little to offer in the way of nutrition.

You should limit your intake of fruits to 2 servings a day, so you can get the energy you need to burn calories and fat.
