iron horse a good brand, it's really sturdy and almost unbreakable, which comes with the price, but compare to the main brands, it's just like a teenager to an adult.

teenager (iron horse)
adult (main brands)

i prefer iron horse and norco because iron horse is really sturdy and norco is my second choice. dont really like the other brands, but that's my opinion

I've been cycling and mountain biking for about 13 years and I have not heard anything about Iron Horse, good or bad.

Of the bikes that you mentioned I recommend Specialized. They've been around a long time, and they do a lot to support and promote the sport. They have a wide range of bikes for all types of riding. You won't be disappointed.

Well, it depends on which bike you get. Their Freeride and Downhill bikes are amazing (With the exception of a few) But I'm not a big fan of their all mountain bikes or anything. I own a Specialized Demo 8 and an SX trail. I would choose those over a Ironhorse any day...but then again Specialized bikes are the only bikes that really fit me good.

Hope this gave you a clearer view.

thanks to assembly line techniques being used to make low cost, decent aluminum frames you can buy a nice bike on a budget now. they lack all the history and fine finishing of higher end frames, but they are strong and fairly light. iron horse is one such bike. i have been riding since 1979, and i have never known anyone that has had a frame actually fail. they have wrecked them and things. i know there are frame failures, but they are very rare. the brand doesnt matter so much. it is the components and features you should shop for. put brand aside and focuse on what is on the frame when shopping, in my opinion. get the best package for the money and put the name on the tube secondary, if it were me.

Iron Horse has like two different bike levels. The ones sold at Kmart and similar, and the ones sold at bike shops (MKVIII, Azure, Sunday and others).

The ones for wallmart are pretty low level, and I doubt they would be worth it. The ones sold at bike shops I think are very good and worth it.

Get two bikes, a mountain bike and
a bike with medium tires about 1 inch wide on a light bicyle like a Schwinn.
I love both of mine, but the light bike is fun and I recommend one bike with high handlebars just for sitting upright and enjoying the ride!!
