I am traveling to Walt Disney World and someone told me to pack snacks, juice boxes, ice packs, and bottled water so I won't have to pay extravagant prices. I also read a poster who said something about carbon monoxide poisoning and other problems.

I won't have any transportation besides the motor coach that takes me to WDW.

Tech_Fanatic:

Can you use the souvenir cups at any hotel or are they for your specific hotel. We are getting those cups as part of our package at the All Star Hotel...and then switching hotels to Port Orleans. Can we use them there too?

Make sure your hotel has a mini fridge reserved for you.

I always bring food in either my carry on or checked luggage. Since luggage can be handled roughly, pack food and liquids in zip-lock bags to prevent damage from leakage.

I'd stick with bringing water to WDW and maybe you can use the juice boxes at the hotel for a snack and such.

If you do have a mini fridge or get a suite, stick the water bottles in the freezer over night. You won't need the ice packs. The water will stay cold as the ice melts.

You shouldn't have a problem with the snacks at all. If anything they will be a little broken when you get there, but there shouldn't be any problems.

Liquids can cause a little more of a problem. Definitley put them in something that would prevent them from leaking all over your belongings. A lot of people bring their own food and drinks along and don't have any problems, so you should be okay. To avoid the problems with the weight of your luggage you could bring empty bottles and just fill them there.

One other suggestion, lugging your own drinks around can be a little bit of a hassle. You may consider just leaving the drinks at home. If you are staying onsite at Disney you can get a refillable mug for each family member. They have a large selection of drinks to choose from and you can get as many drinks as you like. If you want to take them along you can fill the mugs up and bring them to the parks, or just leave them in the resort. Once you are in the parks, you can go to any restaurant or food cart (with drinks) and ask for a cup of ice water. They don't charge and you get a nice, large cup of ice water. If you want to avoid buying drinks but still want to have something during your time at the parks, I think this is the way to go, plus you don't have to bring your own water bottles and things along.

when i went to the uk a couple months ago i packed some chips in the checked luggage and it was ok (some got a little squished) . snacks will be ok. the drinks probably will not make it, if they break open then you will have some laundry to do. maybe once you get close to disney world you can stop off at a grocery store and stock up.

Hi, I recommend you shipping your items to your hotel in advance, most snacks will be crushed and its very likely that your liquids will ruin your clothes. call ahead to your hotel to make sure its ok

on the box of items write:
Save for (name)
Arriving on (date)
and a contact number

Um I don't remember very well but we went to Disney World and I'm pretty sure you can only bring bottled water. I'm not sure how it is now.
