I've had Fibro for 7 years. I take several medications for it. I take *Celexa -- an antidressant that helps with the pain in my spine and rib cage. *Flexeril/Cyclobenzaprine -- a muscle relaxant I take at night that helps me sleep and it also reduces pain. *Lyrica -- it came on the market almost 2 years ago, and it works very well for the overall pain and it helps provide me with more energy, too. * I also take a prescription anti-inflammatory, which is less effective than my other meds, but does help with some of the muscle pain.
Vitamin supplements I take specifically for Fibro that have helped: *Grape seed extract -- 400 - 800 mg daily, helps with joint pain and brain fog. *MSM -- 1,000 - 2,000 mg daily, helps joint and muscular pain. *Coenzyme A -- helps with energy. *L-Carnitine -- 1000 - 2000mg daily, helps with energy and muscle fatigue. *Acetyl-L-Carnitine -- 500 - 1000 mg daily, helps a lot with brain fog.
The less sugar I consume, the better I feel. Stay away from artificial sweeteners. Adequate amounts of daily protein helps my muscles feel better.
I checked out a book from the library called "Treating and Beating Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome" by Dr. Rodger H. Murphree. It is very informative and I plan to go buy a copy from the bookstore.

There was a program on years ago about fibromylagia patients who moved to a totally juiced diet and the improvements they experienced.
This program intriqued me and helped me to believe that diet could make a difference for most auto immune disorders.
I suffer from Rheumatoid Arthritis and after suffering for a long period was finally able to establish a healthier lifestyle that has worked for me, getting me off the medications and returning me to a normal life again.
I know others with fibro who have had the same success through diet changes and supplementation.
If you would like to read through some of the changes I've made, that may also help you, I invite you to read over www.LivingWithRheumatoidArthritis.com
I hope something there can help you, and wish you much improved health in the future, I know how painful fibro can be.

I have Fibromyalgia. What helps me the most is deep tissue massage therapy. Nothing gets to the pain as quickly and resolves what ever Issues are going on. The other therapies that I think helps a great deal is a Jacuzzi or hot bath. Chiropractors can also really help with Easing the pain.
I've written an article about Fibromyalgia which also contains information on what you can do to help yourself at home.

Massage therapy and even accupuncture can sometimes be beneficial for someone with fibromyalgia. I have tried the massage therapy before and had especially good results under the care of one massage therapist. After she left my Pain Management doctor to work somewhere else I tried the girl that came in to work for my doctor but I didn't get as good of a result. I hope to try it again real soon.
Also, I find that sometimes heat such as from a warm shower can be very helpful to my fibromyalgia if I'm hurting real bad.
