theist in R&S and why do you think so? And what is your definition of 'rude'? Is it merely word choice in reaction to a posted question, or is it something else? Is standing firm in your faith and not tolerating endless and non-sensical speculations and baseless assertions considered rude? When and where does one draw the line of distinction concerning these matters?

Ok. Let me back up here a moment. My question is TO Christians and theists about who they think is the most rude 'theist" in R&S; NOT who's the most rude between theists and atheists.

Assertions made without empirical foundation can be dismissed similarly.

I've always found Christians to be the most intolerant of other peoples belief structures, closely followed by Muslims and then Atheists.
Pagans and Buddhists are the least intolerant followed by Shintos and Hindus.
Intolerance equates to rudeness for me. It is OK to stand firm in your faith, but you shouldn't attack someone Else's faith just because they don't believe as you do.
But then that is my opinion, and I will not attack someone else just because they have another.
Freedom of religion is a great concept, but I haven't lived anywhere yet where it is really practiced.
When I lived in the States, people who didn't believe the dominant religion of the area, were always considered damned, even if they just belonged to a different version of the same basic Christianity. And if you were not a Christian, then you somehow were double damned.
Muslims are almost as bad, but at least they don't say that you have to be a Muslim to be a good person and or go to heaven.
Both Christians and Muslims tend to fall back on their holy books as being the ultimate source of authority, which is funny in a way as Muslims can also call on the Old and New Testament, and all three books have contradicting passages within them. Taken all together they are even worse.
And Atheists tend to attack everyone who believes in a higher being, consciousness or reason.

I'd say it's a tie between christianity and atheism.
Atheists are too bold with their statements, and unfortunately don't think about couth because of said boldness.
Christians on the other hand aren't bold at all, but cunning, and will wait for you to fall before picking you back up with a bible in the other hand, or using said bible to finish the job and rub you into the ground.

There is no "one is more rude than the other." You're going to have fanatics on both sides. You can stand firm in your beliefs without being mean and nasty. Most people it seems just choose not to!

Faith is the ultimate rudeness; it assumes that you are right without any need to provide evidence.
