playing piano high?

has anyone ever noticed that if you play the piano when your high you become a better musician. especially when your doing improv. ive been playing for 10 years and when i have a performance i get high as hell before and i usually do extremely well.

I think it depends on how often you smoke and how much. I know one or two amazing musicians who still sound amazing when they're high. Maybe you should test yourself sometime to make sure its not just that you think you're amazing because you're high. Get high as hell and then record yourself. A digital video camera would be the best so you could see yourself too. Wait until you are stone cold sober and then listen to yourself.

It maybe at least partly your perception. It may also be that you have fewer inhibitions and, subsequently play with greater confidence. The only problem is that repeated use of drugs could possibly rob you of the ability to create and perform altogether. The biographies of countless musicians and artists tell the pitfalls of relying on drugs for inspiration or self confidence (or perceived inspiration). What happens when it takes more drugs to get the same effect? If you are a great musician, then, at the most, the drugs are removing inhibitions and letting the greatness out. But if you are truly great - then, you will figure out how to let the greatness out without destroying yourself in the process.

Check out other opinions......when you're high on grass you THINK it is better but others may disagree.....record yourself on the same piece both ways and see for yourself.
