I'd like to think he's merciful. I have a hard time with that question too. Why punish someone in hell because they were in so much pain on this earth they couldn't bear it any longer? I hope God is more compassionate than that.
I know a lot of people think that people who commit suicide are just weak people etc., but I think that is too simplistic. I think people kill themselves for different reasons. Some might do it during a moment of weakness, not because they themselves are weak people - we have no clue what they may have gone through and how long they may have suffered in their lives. Others are in so much despair and hopelessness that they just want to feel like they went to sleep and end the pain. And many people who commit suicide are mentally ill. Severe depression is no joke and does result in suicide. Sometimes people are so screwed up and can't get the help they need, or they do reach out but nobody hears them. I think that when people are so messed up they can't even think straight, it's hard to hold onto any kind of faith, whether in themselves or in God, yet people are too quick to judge them.
If they were in so much pain they took their own lives, there's no need to judge them. Let them rest. That's all they wanted. I do know though that suicide is incredibly difficult for the survivors to deal with. It's hard on everyone who loved that person. What a nightmare. So yeah, I hope that God is merciful.
So many people here are talking about "thinking" and "choices", but fail to realize that when people are in that much despair and hopelessness, particularly for a prolonged period of time, they can't particulary "think" straight anyways. It's great to believe in the Bible or the Quran, but don't let it make you unable to think with compassion and humanity. You're talking about patience but I bet most of you wouldn't have the patience to deal with a person who needs a lot of help. You sure don't sound very patient to me with all your hell crap.

Excusing your self from an entire life of misery isn't a sin. assisting somebody out is an act of humanitarian decency. The Bible does not exhibit an opinion in the subject. It speaks approximately homicide, which some human beings misconstrue and make contact with suicide. in certainty, suicide is a few thing that has been around on the grounds that human beings have walked the face of the earth. If Jesus or everyone else had a distinctive view on it, He would have made point out of it a minimum of. and that i agree that not saving your self from homicide intentionally is suicide. i don't agree that suicide is misguided or evil for the guy committing the act. It purely sucks for those that are left at the back of.

Depression is anger turned inwards. Not a new definition but a new understanding.
Conversation went much like this:
God I’m depressed.
Do you well to be angry?
The conversation was repeated several times until I realized that anger was hurting me not anyone else.
I am angry at many things that have happened in my life; many things that are beyond the power of eYSHUA to make right.
Are you sure about that?
Yes.
Well in that case I guess we are just going to have to live with them.
That’s not very reassuring.
Wasn’t meant to be. If I go fooling around with your memory you are no longer you. That is contrary to my promise to save you.
Somehow hell is looking more likely.
Your memory will create it. As long as we (you and ME) remember wickedness it will remain. I have told you evil can not be undone. It can only be forgotten. In time you will begin to forget the wrongs of this life. Eternity is a very long time and as it continues more and more awareness and things to think about will crowd out the memory of evil.
Revelation 7:17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
Revelation 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
That method works now too. The more good you do and the more you think about the good things you can do the less you will have time to think about the terrible things that have happened.

Honestly, I've always wondered this.
I think it's because a lot of people have trouble surviving this world with having to pay the bills, taking care of the children/family, and among the other problems they may have, even with themselves.
So for someone to just give up, people have a very negative reaction it.
God, I really don't know about Him.
People are really stuck in abusive situations.
I think it all depends on a situation.
Who are we to know how God thinks?
No one really knows.
People are saying that you should just have faith but they don't seem to understand that a suicidal person has lost hope.
Hope = faith.
Most suicidal people probably aren't very religious (minus the bombers).
I don't think God sends all of the people who commit suicide to Hell.
But I think most of them do go.
Because you also are forgetting that everyone sins.
Someone might commit suicide because of a major sin.
i.e murder, rape, etc.
And they can't live with the guilt.
But that's really just because their conscious is getting to them.
But either way, they were probably going to go to Hell.
Other people who are stuck in abusive situations, I feel more sympathy for them.
There's a lot of depressed people who need help but can never receive it or get diagnosed too late.
That's why religion is so important to a lot of people.
Through all of this hardship, there's a light glimmer of hope.
Hope that if they are a good person, good things will happen to them.
If they pray to God (or their Gods), that a 'divine' spirit will secure their future with happiness.
God is merciful if you believe him to be.
Simple as that.
If you believe him to be, even when you're feeling like crap, that incentive, will help you going.
Me personally, I don't depend on God.
But I do believe he exists.
But suicidal people lose that.
And thats why people consider suicide taboo.
Thats why people claim if you commit suicide, you'll go to Hell.
Because they want to know that for 'being hopeful', they'll get a reward and that people who aren't to an extreme content, end up in Hell.

Suicide is a great sin...more worst than killing other person. God has given us the freedom to do everything, in such a way that it is up to the individual to think what to and what not to do. He has given us the power over all creatures, we have the power to think what is right and what is wrong, the power to choose whether we side with God or evil. God is merciful. It was his own great plan to watch his people whom they vote for. Don't do it. Try to find out a way to resolve your problems.

Sit back? The only time God "sits back" is when you shove Him out of your life and have the attitude that you know your own limits better than God does. God IS merciful and if you keep praying, He will give you the strength to make it through.
How do I know, you might ask? Because he delivered me from my own struggle with the tempation to take my own life.

Yes suicide is a great sin.Allah the only one God in line with the holy Qur'an do not want to change one's fate and one's livelihood or a race's fate,if he/she or they do not try hard to ovrercome his/her or their difficulties. So God will give someone a better life if he/she has a good effort for it.God aslo gives us a free choice to select the right path or the wrong path with its consequencies.Suicide is a wrong path with its punishment go to hell.God gives also instruction to us for being patient if we experienced a bad condition and be thankful to God if we received much better condition
.Unbearable condition should be changed by hard effort not by suicide..
Suicide is despair without effort and it means making cruelty to him/herself.which is prohibited by God as stated in the holy Qur'an.God is merciful but God asking us to work hard.By working hard God will give us a fruit.God does not allow someone to make suicide death because it is not in line with God's prohibition and God's instruction..Your suffering should be overcomed by hard effort and God will allow you to overcome it.Livelihood will not be given by God without someone's hard effort.
Death is normally governed and decided by God and death by him/herself through suicide is against with God's willing
ness..Suffering is a life testing from God whether we are pati
ent and want to work harder. In Qur'an God spoke that Suaib prophet the father in law of Moses prophet suffered by skin disease for more than 7 years and he kept be patient and then God showed him its medicine and cured....

God does not allow it, He gave you FREE WILL, it is Satan that is to Blame Not God! If you kill yourself, it is YOUR choice, you don't have to do it, but Satan wants you too, Satan Hates all mankind and wants you to suffer! You allow yourself to suffer, quit putting the blame on God or someone else, it's your choice not his! Grow up and get a grip! If you want to get out of the terrible life you say your living, then give yourself to Jesus, he will redeem you and cleanse your soul. Get yourself to church ASAP, and start taking control of your life. Jesus loves you and wants you be blessed with all the blessings of Abrahm, but you must first deserve it, by living for Christ!
Romans 1:16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 17 For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last,[c] just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith."
Romans 1:19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.

Hey if you want to know why God allows so much suffering and when it will end go here: http://www.watchtower.org/library/w/2001/5/15/article_02.htm
Look up the scriptures with your own Bible so that you know it's straight from the Bible. I hope this helps.

God gives everyone a chance, and when Jesus comes silently, those left are non believers and people who just didn't live it to be worthy of being taken yet. Now, trials and tribulations will make it triple hard for anyone to enter heaven. Hold on to your faith, its hard but you can do it.
