I met a nice guy and we hung out,it was ok ,he was sweet . After about 4 months of dating he came out and told me that he loved me and that he had something to tell me. He told me that he was burned for life!! I said what does that mean? He responed I have herpes!! Whoa Whoa, (and no we had not had sex )He then asked me when was I going to let him make love to me. He also told me that he gave herpes to his childs mother and she didnt seem to mind!!!! WHAT!! I dont think that I responded the way he wanted me to so, he told me that I should feel lucky that he told me he had it cause he didnt have to. I quickly thought of a reason to get off the phone, it was a bit much to swallow. Am I wrong?????????? Did he come to me wrong?????

You shouldn't push him off just because he told you that, and he definatly was wrong to say he didn't have to tell you that, that's something that NEEDS to be said in a relationship. But you probably made him feel embarrased he revealed something so deep with you.

You should have said, "I appreciate you telling me that, and that's a hard thing to swallow, let think about what you said and get back to you".

It's ok to have sex with someone who have herpes if you make sure they take medicine like Valtrex and are not having an outbreak, it makes it safer for you, of course always wear a condom.

But if he said his baby's mama didn't mind, she's dumb! They need to be back together so they can burn each other, and keep it to themselves. But don't stop talking to him because of that. Be open about how you feel, but be respectful of his feelings. Imagine if u were in that situation.

No you were not wrong. You shouldn't feel lucky that he told you because it is his responsibility to tell you, and what kind of women wouldn't mind getting herpes. Sounds like an a**.

well at least he was honest.. I think he should have told you in person and use a better selection of words.. Herpes's girl.. Ughh you may need to understand the full ramifications of that disease and the outbreak periods and what type of precautions you need to take.. If I were you I would back away from him real slow..

There are ways to protect from herpes. Medication on his part and using condoms is generally very effective. If you are concernd, and I certainly would be, just avoid getting into a relationship with him.

Your not wrong. That was very forward of him and if I was dating a girl and she called me up and dropped a bomb like that I'd probably get off the phone really fast too. You need to recover and collect your thoughts after that, i would imagine.

But if it was me...i'd probably dump a girl who told me that. Nothing personal...but I don't want to get any STD's of any kind.

stay away from him if you don't want herpes...and maybe you should let him know that if he gives herpes to someone else and they find out he knew all along they could sue him and he could have to pay all of thier medical bills for LIFE.

you arent wrong. if you're really that concerned for the guy, help him find a doctor. herpes is a threat to his health too, not just his sexual partners.

You are right, While there are ways to deal with it, letting him give it to you is NOT included in it.
If thats how he feels, lose him quick.
Good Luck
