My mind is going 1000 miles an hour. I suffer from major depression and I go to a therapist, and I'm trying to implement all the techniques she is giving me, but right now it isn't helping. I just saw pictures of my ex-girlfriend (the reason im in therapy) with some guy, and its killing me. Im just walking around with such a heavy heart right now, like all the girls in my life are nuts (lol) and im feeling..hopeless in terms of love and girls. I just cant relax myself at all right now. I dont want to stay up all night worrying and have a headache tomorrow..IF anyone can give me calming thoughts, affirmations, happy thoughts, ANYTHING, I would appreciate it so much. Thanks in advance :)
ps. any uplifting songs or happy songs or something thats cool to listen to like the postal service, or something like that?

i'm 16, and the prospect of having to deal with so much stress and a mind that over-analyzes and never stops thinking, for the rest of my life, is freaking me out right now..

Have you been treated by a medical doctor for this? Maybe you need medication.

Hi Tough night, huh.
Here is some of what has worked for me.
The song Amazing Grace helps to slow you down and to contemplate other focuses of your life.

Open a Bible to the middle, to Psalm number 23
Read each verse slowly, contemplating the meaning.
This is commonly used by people to calm their heart and mind. Repeat reading this slowly several times. As you do
notice that the person isn't standing still, isn't dying. He is moving and moving through the valley......and you can too.

People often read Psalms and Proverbs as a means of identifying what they are thinking and feeling. The psalmist, writing passes through a whole range of emotion.

Do focus your mind on something entirely different than your troubles. You will find calm and I hope you find sleep tonight.

Wow...that's some pretty heavy stuff to deal with at 16 years old...Try classical. I am a big fan of Franz Schubert if you would like to listen to something nice
