It is the work of the Holy Spirit. He is the one who inspires you and illuminates you mind to the truth of scripture.

The same way we get the idea that we are sinners who need to repent and receive Jesus as our Savior--it's a work of the Holy Spirit. He not only inspires us to read the Bible, He opens up our understanding as we read God's word. Also, there are times we may not "feel" like reading it or praying, and that's where discipline comes in. The Holy Spirit is also there to help during those times.

There are many Bibles considered to be the works of a God! What they all have in common is there creation by men of various cobbled together writings by men for the purpose of having power & control over the vulnerable populace! Unfortunately even the supposedly intelligent fall prey to this also, hence it's undesirable influence on our world today still!

Read 1 Timothy 3:15, and you'll know:

1Ti 3:15 But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

The church produced the bible. The church is the official distributor of God's grace in the world. The church is the pillar and ground of the truth.

He does for me. And sometimes that is contested by my sin nature. The idea that it won't do any good, or that I am bored, is from my flesh.

God's word always helps me. And that means that He inspires me when I expose myself to it. And reading aloud helps too.

For faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
