question if speaking in tongues?

is not from the Lord, well, at one time, I had some pretty scary stuff happening in my home. plus some not so scary stuff, I had went to my pastor and many others who would not help. Then I found a pentacostal (hope thats spelled right) pastor who said they would help, they came over annoited the house, prayed and spoke in tounge, I remember it got very hot at that moment like a bad hot flash. they said I had the gift of deserment. thats probabaly not spelled right either. But whatever they did, it workedm, I have not been bothered since then, I had been since I was 9 years old. and in one day these people stopped it. except for my dreams. But stuff doesnt move or talk all by itself anymore, My son doesnt have an imaginary friend anymore who says he loves him and is going to take him home soon ect. so if these people are practicing stuff from satan, then why did it work?

Not all tongues is good. A pastor was speaking about how in church, continually, over and over this person would just get up and speak in tongues loudly and obnoxiously, so much so it would honestly disrupt the church, but the churchgoers were to unaware and assumed this person was just a really strong Christian. The pastor decided to ask the speaker to say "Jesus is the Lord," (because, speaking in holy tongues you can totally say that) and the person could only slur "Jesus isa Lord." (it was more slurred, it's just hard to type ya know.) Basically, this person was being used to disrupt the church, but Satan used such a subtle way to get into the church by using something that's so common in church. Perhaps these people had no idea what they were doing, and some people don't, but I don't think they are practicing it from satan, as you say. Perhaps Satan used the deception (for that's all he has the power of). Satan may have used deception on the pastor, and let the things seem perfect, then turn them inside out in order for you to actually question the power of it all...

Confusing, but simple really. Satan only decieves, and this seems like a case.

I think God still shows people things (prophesy) and I think there are people who speak in tongues (languages) while under the influence of the Holy Spirit. The problem I have with your mother, from what you tell us, is that she brags about these things. Pride is a sin. And she sounds prideful or possibly she needs attention, I don't know. If she is reading your diary and watching you in church (when she should be focusing on worshiping God) then she is also wrong and manipulative. Speaking in tongues and prophesy/visions were some of the gifts of the Spirit Jesus promised we would have. Unfortunately, these things have been misused by people until they have a negative connotation for most people. But there are those with pure motives and hearts close to God who still have these gifts!! Thank God for that....((Hugs))

What they did is not practicing Satan. These things you speak of that they did was done by the early church and Pentacostals today. Many annoit the entrances to their home with oil and pray that wall who enter will be blessed and safe. Praying in tongues is a way to reach God in a better way than just praying normally because you may not know exactly what to pray for but the Holy Spirit who prays for you when you pray in tongues, knows what needs to be said....you can pray in the normal way if you know what to pray for. I am happy for you that you found someone who knows what you needed. Anyone can drive out the devil if they have the faith...and this was no doubt, demonic spirts in your home...You don't need a Catholic Priest...you chose someone filled with the Holy Ghost...good for you.

It worked because the devil has power and likes to confuse people. If he can get people thinking they're saved because they speak in tongues, he wins their souls in the end. People who are saved have to trust in the shed blood of Christ alone to cleanse them of their sins. Some people get fooled by all the emotionalism that's going on in some churches and forget about repentance and faith. They like the party atmosphere at pentecostal churches. It makes them feel good. Christianity is not about feeling good. It's about serving and following the Lord. Yes, the Lord blesses Christians but people that only go to church for the blessings are missing the point. God calls us to a life of service and self denial. When we follow God, He gives us an unexplainable peace and joy.

This is a gift from God, not Satan. You can read about it in the book of Acts in the Bible. It's wonderful! It's powerful! It's real!!! And, it can be for you, too! (See Acts 2:39.)
Please understand that there is a difference between the 'gift of tongues' and the gift of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues as was poured out on the day of Pentecost. It is indeed still being poured out today!

know,but i had listened to my young brother mummbeling some crap when he was praying a very long time ago.he is
no longer with us,as some low life mongrel(GOD) took him away
(he is maggot fodder),i was curious so i asked him what hell he was doin, and his answer was that he was talking in Hebrew,i left the room scratching my head,then i turned back to him and said why would you talk to your god in another language,whats wrong with English or Australian? Are you

was still none the wiser and let it go,anyway he started it again, and in no uncertain terms i told hom to Bugger off as
he was annoying me with his gibberish,he was a minister with a church in another town.They had a motorcycle group
called Christ's Crusaders MCC,and i lived on the other side of the fence as i rode with Satan's Cavalry MCC,and i would bet pounds to peanuts that my little brother was trying to convert me.Anyway it didn't work as he went to his maker first.

What a great question!

The only answer I have is that Jesus once said, 'Those who are not with me are against me.' So it stands to reason that 'those who are not against Him are with Him.' I think any group of people seeking God's truth belong to Him. So, although I believe pentecostals are narrow-minded extremists, they belong to the Lord and He helps them.
