My aunt and cousin have been telling me how much a phycologist can help with your problems like when your talking you can just let it all out, and afterward you feel good about it. I kindof want to see one, all the stuff that has been building up lately it sounds nice. But my mother is so against it. I can already picture her saying "they wont help you, there too expencive" but our insurance will cover it (im pretty sure) and please tell me if you think that it is wierd to see one because I want to but im just not sure?

Many points to best answer!!

A psychologist, or professional counselor are there to listen, to observe, and to assist you in getting "unstuck". We all seem to have atleast one area of our life where things aren't working quite right, be it how we think of ourselves, our relationships, or how we do / do not behave, or how we handle our stress.

I agree with you, having the chance to ask your questions, to review areas of confusion or difficulty, or some coaching in your particular areas of stress, or concerning relational difficulties........can be of help.

Here are some alternative "do-it-yourself" free options.
1) get a notebook and start writing your questions, concerns, or guilt, consider your relationships and your motivations in life.(it's called journaling")
2) find a friend who is willing to talk over the issues of life with you, and to ponder the questions of life together.
3) get together often with an adult friend as a "mentor" or "life coach"
Ask your questions, review your areas of difficulty.

Assuming you do not have a serious medical / mental problem these alternative options can be equally satisfying and can assist you in self-evaluation, moving toward maturity.

No not at all...
I seem very normal from the outside nobody would know that I see a psychologist and have since I was 7 and I'm 21 now. I have OCD/ADD/Bipolar/Anxiety Disorder and have worked very hard to get where I am today. Without my psychologist I never would be where I am. I honestly never would have made it here today. I either would have committed suicide or just would be in my bedroom gave out on life a high school dropout. Right now I'm currently in college and working to be a psychologist myself. I have 2 years left of school. I model part time. And am learning to love myself. I have my bad days but without medicine and my psychologist I never would have made it here. You are def not weird for going to a psychologist. That’s not weird at all. You just need a little extra help and that’s ok. They would never tell you that they can't help you...they will work miracles for you. And yes they might be costly...but you can find one that will cover your insurance...so don't worry...you will find help....you just have to take the first step and go to the psychologist....you have to want the help...and talk to them...from there you have made the first step...and they take it from there...keep faith and don't give up.
GOOD LUCK

Remember nobody has to know that you see a Psychologist if you think they MIGHT think it is weird...
most people dont though they think it is cool you live life with whatever you have and they are proud of you.

It really depends on what sort of issues you are going through in your life and who else you have around you.

Talking is the best way to get around your issues and letting out things that build up in your head. If you have a good friend that you can really trust, you can talk to them. If you have a close male friend, they can often be better to talk to than a female as females like to have their opinions heard and often butt in when you are talking. A male (doesn't have to be a partner) will usually just listen give little comments when needed and then just give you a hug.

If you do not have this type of support available then there is absolutely nothing wrong with going to a phycologist and until you use one of these two methods, your head will not be free of these issues

Counseling in general can be very helpful if you are open to it. It will allow you to open up about your feelings in a safe environment. The counselor will help you explore the how's and whys and help you figure out how you can make things better for yourself. There are a lot of options out there to use including psychologists however if your parents are concerned about costs check to see if your county has a counseling agency. If they do they will work with you on a sliding scale to adjust the costs. If you are in school then you can also check with the school to see if you can work with the schools counselor as well.

I have a messed up past, but I don't have a mental disorder, you won't be considered crazy for seeing a psychiatrist, lol, i promise you that. its just comforting sometimes to know that someone cares what you're saying, or someone who won't tell if you did something wrong. in fact 4-5 of my friends go to a psychiatrist too, and many kids at my school, its not always used for mental disabilities, sometimes its just a comfort
