I feel that sin equals unknowledge. choices that you make that will affect you and others somewhere down the road that won't have a good outcome. You don't think of the consequences, cos you get caught up in your emotions.
You know they say that the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. Yea we do it to ourselves, Like driving down the road of life, and choicing to take the wrong turns because of the excitement but at the end of the road, it's ususlly the same ending. Mistake, wrong turn, won't get me where I need to be
and still having to find the right road for yourself.

I have no control over the fact that I inherited an alcoholic gene, but I don't drink because I know that alcohol will trap me and hurt the people I care about (like it did for many of my family).
It is the same with sin, when we blatantly sin, it damages our relationships with God and with each other. Sin is not a list of arbitrary rules God made, but a list of traps to avoid. When I sin, I feal guilty and don't reach out to God.
God isn't going to force me, so sin does, undenably seperate us from God.

But sin is the issue. Sin is a human defined slight against an imaginary being for the purposes of social control. Sin doesn't exist, because god doesn't exist. I'm not going to read dogmatic propaganda and suddenly believe in something for which there is no evidence. That is an insanity.
If I told you to believe in the pink fluffy unicorn of niceness because after you're dead she'll spend an eternity feeding you pink fairy-floss you wouldn't do it, would you? How is your pretend friend, god, any different?

Look a child is born happy , just like a God on earth..
slowly he is separated from his heaven and contact with God
society makes him live in sin
now to Live in sin is separated from God , you have to either go back to your child hood or learn to find a heaven inside you which you can do by looking within close eye , sit watch your thoughts , mind and slowly you will be your self with God again in this body God will talk to you

I think that living a life of constant sin does separate us from God. But a few sins here and there can actually bring you closer to God. One can acknowledge sins they have committed and ask for repentance and receive forgiveness. My priest always preaches that God is indeed a forgiving God. Furthermore, with sins they have committed people can learn from them and preach to other people their situations thus helping out others.

its my understanding that sin doesnt CAUSE separation
but sin IS separation from god
as a buddhist i believe that it is an illusion
buddhists believe that god did not CREATE the world
so much as BECAME the world
therefore the only separation is in our minds
i cant put my faith in the cruel god of the hebrews

It is God who makes the decision who is able to come to Him, and who isn't. It is true that once chosen, we have the capacity to ignore Him or respond to Him. But initially God does the choosing.
Where do I get that?
Romans 9
14 What then shall we say? Is God unjust? Not at all! 15 For he says to Moses,
"I will have mercy on whom I have mercy,
and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion."[f] 16 It does not, therefore, depend on man's desire or effort, but on God's mercy.

the bible tells us that sin DOES put a wedge between us and God.( Isaiah 59:2) thats why we do have to repent, thats why we do have Jesus as our mediator. sin can be a issue if your LIVING in it. but i understand what your saying also. its impossible to please God without faith.

yes and no. yes, because we get to ask for forgiveness..we pray. no because, by sinning we turn our backs to God to do something bad.
i agree that it's always a person's choice..and i've always put my trust and my whole life to Jesus...
