Checkcare doesn't take warrants out for accounts, they can't, because they are not a party to the check. If the merchant that originally accepted the checks feels that there was fraud involved, then the Merchant would have to report it to the police or Magistrate, who would make that decision.

Checkcare is merely a collection agency and have no speical authorities over other collection agencies.

However, they will share your information with other check recovery places...they all exchange information...your banking routing/account number is cross referenced with your drivers license number...so if you closed out your bank account, and then opened another, when your drivers license was presented on the new account, they would "register" the new account number and block that one too.

If it's only two weeks, you should be fine. Just communicate with them, set up a payment plan, and keep all cancelled checks with a running balance.

No warrants. Wait! It would depend on the amount of the check(s) and how many have bounced. But, no, they will not go for a warrant immediately. They will go for a tort; a judgement against his paycheck before they put him in jail. If he's in jail they can't get squat.

If they wrote checks knowing they didn't have money in the bank it is fraud. They could be arrested if can prove the fraud, they probably will be allowed to redeem the bounced checks and lose banking privileges a few years.
