i honestly believe it depends on the individual and their maturity. everyone is different.

This is a situation where everything is relative. Four years difference when one person is 12 and the other is 16 is light years apart. But later on, when one person is 30 and the other is 34... Well, those are practically the same age.

I think that after the youngest person is 18 four years difference doesn't make that much difference at all.

It depends what age you are now. If you are a teenager, then yes four years is a lot older, because at this time you are maturing a lot and those years make a big difference. Once you hit you mid 20s, it's no big deal.

I have a four yr diff. with my husband (he is older)
my male friends are older and my parents have a 12 yr diff. So age should not be an issue, be confident in yourself and the rest will fall in place

i personally don't think so. but it depends on how mature each of you are. but i can't really tell you if its too big of a difference or not. but hey, put it this way if you think this is a big difference than thats your answer- when you get your driver's license then they will be 12 (or other way around if they are older than you) or if one of you is 21 the other is 17. if you really love/like them than it doesn't matter.

No, that's not much. I'm 11 years older than my husband. We only remember it when he's moaning about how long he'll have to work after I retire, lol.
