You ask him to quit for you, see if he's willing to try. If he isn't then you have two options: 1) Get over it and get use to smoke or, 2) Dump him and find someone that doesn't.
If he does quit for you, be encouraging for him, quitting is hard. People quit smoking all the time, but it takes a week of not smoking to really get rid of the cravings. At least that's what my buddy told me when he quit. I've only lasted 3 days.

I've never really gone through this because I'm only 14, but I'd say, tell some one. I take Health at school, and it says that most likely you will get addicted to smoking the either the first or the second time you try a ciggarette. It gives bad side affects though. Like your stomach gets all twisty, and your throat may hurt when you first try it. So if she says her throat hurts or her stomachs all twisty, she's probably gotten addicted. In Health class they say you should tell someone if this happens. I believe them. But really, its up to you. And by worrying about her well being, you're doing the right thing. So don't feel like your immature, cuz you're not. You're a good person. So tell somebody. Probably you should tell an adult- cuz they're more powerful and they can help you.

There really is not much you can do without him feeling "pressured" by you. The more you nag, suggest, try to convince him of the bad effects, point it out every time you see him smoking or smell smoke on him, etc. etc., you are actually making him smoke more and dig in his heels so he won't quit. I know it feels right to try and "educate" him on the benefits of quitting, discuss all the bad side effects, etc., but the only way he will quit, is if HE realizes it is the best thing for him. And that will NOT happen if he feels pressured. The best thing to do is offer your support by saying that if he ever wants to quit, you will be there to help/support him, but let him know it is HIS decision, then Drop it! Little reminders and the like will just make him not want to quit. People who smoke know it's bad for them, but they are addicted, and it is not easy to quit. Pressure from a friend or loved one just makes it harder. Decide if YOU can deal with the smoking. If not, you may need to leave the relationship. Or, you can always take it up too:)

why would you want to date a smoker if cigarettes smokes bother you? when he want to lite one up, you just have to move away from him until he finish smoking. Don't try to make him stop, that's is a no! no! Just tell him it bother you and that you would like for him not to smoke around you (e.i. riding in the car, sitting at a cafe after eating, or in a room with little air flow) that is all you can really do. ps next time don't pick a smoker for a boyfriend and you know that you don't like to smell second hand smoke!!

Well it's a real problem when one of the partners smokes and the other doesn't.
If he doesn't wish to quit - he should probably smoke somewhere far from you and after smoking chew a gum or use something to fresh his mouth.

If you are not ok with it let him know. If he smokes around you leave the room. Do not let him smoke in your car (if he does stop the car and tell him to step out) your house (ask him to go outside) if you are with him in his car ask him to wait or do not go anywhere with him in his car. Leave the room. If he choose you then he is a keeper if he doesn't care then loose him.

I agree with the first answer. Tell him you won't kiss him while he smokes...
Tell him his breath really stinks when he talks to you.. and when he whispers you can still smell it.. Major turn-off.
:) Happened to me once upon a time.. worked magically.

Date someone else, most likely he will never quit. My soon to be ex husband smokes cigs and pot, and I thought when our son was born he would quit... nope.
Might as well find you a non smoker.
