Or what about "Spreading the Word" I thought that 'spreading' ment to just...spread, not shove down throats...But why is it that I was nearly stoned because I said to someone "I don't believe in your God" as politely as I could...? Or the fact that my teacher nearly failed me because I did some "Atheist preaching" as in, I told the truth about peoples characters (as in, the preps were all sluts, the jocks were d1cks, etc.) Or that this one girl nearly got me expelled because I "harassed" her when the class was having a religious 'discussion' (which really means discrimminating against people with my beliefs) and when I went to outmanevur the girl (verbally, outsmart whatever) she cried to the teacher (don't worry...I wasn't incarcerated...) So how Christian is that, are they just not really Christian, or are they just a good representation of your religion?

Spreading the word is not suppose to mean shoving down throats...you can't help people believe that way..they'lll believe it if they want. What I do is make freinds with people (build bridges) and do nice things for them 9not expecting anything in return) and then i try to tell them my life changing experiences and what I do know if they ask....sometimes I don't know so I will tell them I dunno (planting seeds) and if they want nothing to do with it...i leave them alone about the topic but still continue the friendship and still pray for them and myself. However I don't think it's right to preach to people if they don't want to hear and also it's not right to say that anyone is a sl*t or a D8&%. It isn't christian to be hateful...but just because they were having a discussion doesn't mean that they were being hateful...on the other hand telling peole that they were what you said was rude and hateful...sometimes we have to keep our opinions to ourselves.....I sure do have to bite my tongue...ALOT no matter how much I want to say something.....I think about how it would make other people feel.
Another thing I thought of....I know alot of atheist who do the same exact thing as what you think christians do.....shoving it down our throats that there is no God. I think it goes both ways. So i don't think it's the religion...just the fact that we are all human and no one is perfect and never will be so there will always be issues like this.

Beats me, but I'd say a bad representative. I got the same slack when I asked about Islam "Do not yoke yourself with unbelievers!" they thunder ^_^. That is a very good example of "not" practicing what they preach.
On the other side of the spectrum, notwithstanding the 9-11 scenario, I've found Muslims to be very accomodating and even humorous when they try to "spread the word", they don't shove it down your throat like most Christians I know.
Then again we might be generalizing, but so far all those I've encountered pastors and followers, most of them despite the fact that are very ignorant about other religions are very critical and spiteful about them. It makes me want to go run in the other direction. I wonder which part in the Bible did they get that mantra from?

Seriously, look at the entire history of Christianity. Until the last hundred years or so, it was nothing but slaughter, forced conversions, auto de' fey, burning people alive, murdering indigenous peoples the world over as they believe in "Manifest Destiny" and that they have "Dominion" over the earth, which to them means to conquer it, and put it completely under their power, and if whatever elements refuse they must be destroyed. They just LOVED murdering Jews, which is really strange considering if they REALLY believed Jesus the Jew was the Messiah, they must have no fear of him at all for murdering MILLIONS of his brothers and sisters over their bloody history.
This tells us that the founders of the Church did not at all believe that Jesus was actually the Messiah, but founded the entire movement for the purposes of power and greed, and nothing more. Afraid of killing God's bloodline brothers and sisters? Nope, not at all. Because they never believed in it in the first place.
In fact, the story of Jesus is WAY older than before the time he was supposed to have existed, it comes from ancient pagan mythologies, not from Judaism whatsoever. Check out what Jews really believe, most Christians think Judaism and Christianity are the same except Jews don't believe in Jesus. Nope, nothing could be further from the truth.
Check out http://www.drazin.org and read the chapter in the Table of Contents called "Ancient God/Men" and then do your own research from there, if interested.
To learn what Jews believe, and who and what the Messiah will ACTUALLY be and do, please read the following, and you will see how Christianity doesn't even have the barest essentials of this, and how they adopted ancient paganism instead. Truly, the Church founders never believed that Jesus was the Messiah either, and I don't mean the Jews that were around at the very beginning, I mean the ones who founded the first Church - these were not Jews, they were Gentiles.
The whole thing is bogus.

What grade are you in? If you and your classmates are still young, then chances are they still have a bit of growing up to do. I'm with you, hon... I believe heavily in to each his own, and I have always loathed people who want to shove their religion down my throat. But let it roll off, because they're just immature. True Christians do not act like this. It's just that the few who do get the most attention. They unfortunately give the rest of us a bad name. We're not all like that. Those of us who aren't...simply ignore people like that. They're not worth my time. At least all the people I know do.

Christ's words and his way of being in the world have been so terribly twisted and convoluted by people who are motivated by guilt and fear. Churches must find a way to control their members. Otherwise they would cease to exist. I don't believe that anger and coercion are ever warranted in religion. The practice of true Christianity would be to love another person as you love yourself. It is one reason why I don't believe in organized religion.

Trust me man, it happens all the time, it's not about the religion.
The religion that is the biggest victim of that right now is Islam. And it happens to me all the time. The actions of a few put the entire people in a bad image.

Well it is true that Christians are an annoying bunch of people with little to no respect of others, but belief is a two-way street. Most of us don't want to hear either of you people talk about your beliefs.

No, hatred and intolerance aren't Christian values. That's one of many reasons that I don't aggressively push my religion on other people. If other people choose not to share my beliefs, that's up to them.
