Yes,years ago,one of our cats had pyometra and had to have an emergency spay done.She did eat for us after the surgery,and seemed to be feeling quite well after about two days,but not all animals are the same.Your cat is probably in some pain,and she is fighting a serious infection,so she doesn't feel like eating.I would go and get some baby food meat (beef,chicken,lamb) at the grocery store,and warm it in the microwave for a few seconds.Most cats can't resist this.Also,I assume she is on antibiotics? This will sometimes upset their stomachs,but it is important to keep giving them to her.Just keep giving her water and broth(beef or chicken) with the dropper or a syringe,and try the baby food.I think she will start to eat within a few days,and feel much better with that nasty uterus gone.Pyometra is a very serious condition,and one I did not know about until my cat developed it.This is another reason,besides population control, that it is SO important to spay female cats and dogs,even if they are not allowed outside or are not going to be bred.
I hope your cat is feeling better soon,and I'm betting she will be eating a little bit on her own by this time tomorrow.Please keep us posted.

Did the vet send home antibiotics and pain medication for you to give to her? He should have.
It's possible that the infection was not confined to her uterus, and now it has spread to the lining of her abdomen. This is a very serious condition makes a cat very sick. Her energy and resistance are very low, so if she hasn't eaten or drank water by the time the vet opens tomorrow, call and make an appointment to take her back in so he can examine her. She may need subcutaneous fluids to combat dehydration, possibly force feeding, pain medication, more antibiotics, etc.
(If the receptionist doesn't want to give you an appointment tomorrow, take the cat and go down to the vet clinic anyway. She needs to be seen or she could die.)
Once the infection is under control, most cats recover well from pyometra.

Pyometra is inflammation of the uterus. Your Vet spayed your cat removing the uterus.
Now with antibiotics and alot of care your cat should improve. She is in alot of pain right now so be patient with her. Make sure you give her fluids and try offering the juice from our Tuna Fish. Hopefully she will be attracted to the juice and little by little she will gain some strength. You can also get a product from your local pet store called
Nutracal which helps her appetite and gives her a caloric boast. I hope your kitty gets better soon. All the best.

Yes, I had a cat with it. The vet said it was the worse case he had ever seen she wasn't even a year old. It took about a week once she came home to act normally again. We gave her baby food to eat chicken & turkey. She liked that and we also added evapoated milk with water to it to get liquids down as well. It does take time it's very hard on their bodies, you just have to give her time. Take care, love to your little girl. All the best, may she get well soon;~}

Cats can be finicky.. Just cause the vet would like to see her eat when she gets home, doesn't mean that's what she has in mind.. Just make sure she has access to good clean water, her favourite foods and she'll feel better in a few days.. Give her any medications she was prescribed, and finish them.. Keep her quiet and she'll come around.
