Jesus was really giving a very good answer, though few know this. ~*~

I think I would have asked the question differently: "....are there some questions that do not even deserve an answer?" Because all people deserve answers if they really have questions.

However, I'm not going to try to figure out the motives or the reasons for every question, but if I feel it's a question I don't want to answer, I don't. Sometimes there's great wisdom in ignoring some comments/questions.

Jesus was on a mission. If you know you are right, you don't need to defend yourself.
Two things, He said to answer yes or no, all else may come from evil. He also knew that if he said anything it would change the course of his fate. Peter told him not to go to Jerusalem as the story goes and Jesus replied, " Get behind me satan", because satan was trying to stop his mission.
To answer your question, sometimes discretion is the greatest part of valor. You have to learn when to hold your tongue. There was a saying in the WW2 times, Loose lips sink ships. Overlooking someones Ignorance and not saying something in defense is harder and more noble than lashing out.

Thought provoking ?
Jesus didnt answer Herod, and maybe once Pilot.
Reason being, he already knew what he had to do to save us.
He was going with his Fathers will.
Like He told Pontius, after he says I can set you free.
Jesus replies, you can only do what my father in heaven allows you to do.
He didnt have to mince words with Herod, his fate was already sealed. Herod was merely acting out what was to be done.
In answer to your other part, yes, some folks given a situation, really dont need an answer if you know what your going to do anyway.
Funny you mention this cause many posts declare that Jesus and bible are myth.
When history fully shows otherwise.

Well, if I can express a thought to remind the person asking the question to return to be a true human being to others then I did alright.
