It depends on the city/state. BTW, whoever pays your insurance is not going to be happy....

Typical fine is $10 per MPH over the limit, plus up to 100% additional in costs, fees and "surfines". So that would cost you at least $140 and maybe as much as $280.

In many states getting any ticket while on a provisional (under 18) license can cost you a suspension for anything from 90 days up to your 18th birthday.

You can also expect a hefty increase in your insurance rates as well.

It all depends on the police department that pulled you over. For example, when I was pulled over for 17 over, the cop was nice and wrote me up for 10 over which was only $90 through the county sheriff department, but it would have been $175 if it was from the Michigan State Police. Best advice would be to call the police department that pulled you over.

Also, you will probably have points added to your licence, which because of your age will make your insurance rates go through the roof.
