Most likely it is because Atheists tend to be Free Thinkers, and most often dont just accept what they are told by an authority figure. They tend to enjoy knowing the truth even if it is more painful than a comfortable lie. There is also the whole End of Times belief by most Christians who really really want to believe that we are in a war against Islam. As far as "the 9-11 conspiracy" there are a lot of different theories, some put out by utter nut jobs who see conspiracy in everything, and others with a lot more fact to them. I dont think we should be labeling this thing a Conspiracy Theory, that makes it sound like only Nutjobs disagree with the official story. That is simply not true. There are A LOT of advantages to be had from this War on Terror for the upper echelons of society. The attacks of 9-11 couldnt not have gone better for the country of Israel. We got rid of Saddam for them (something they have wanted for a long time) and we are also engaging and fighting all of their enemies for them (ie arabic muslims). We know for a fact that Osama bin Laden worked along side the CIA for quite a while, we know for a fact that the Bin Laden family and the Bush family have very close ties. The fact that we are not actively pursuing Osama is an indicator also.

Who said so ? . I am an atheist but I am not among the dedicated morons who believe in the 9/11 conspiracy !
Nor the fake moon landing conspiracy
Nor the Holocaust conspiracy
Nor the JFK conspiracy
Nor the Marylyn Monroe conspiracy.
How true is the saying " Have faith in God and cast out reason " . George Bernard Shaw !
Think again !!

I'm a Christian and I thought there was something phoney about 9-11 shortly after it happened. It's probably better not to generalize.

Which conspiracy are you talking about.
The George Bush conspiracy or the Alex Jones conspiracy or the Muslim conspiracy or the conspiracy where the owner of the Twin Towers wanted insurance money.

It is not that they believe any conspiracy, it is that they don't like the fact that President Bush is a religious man and, so, they will say anything to hurt his credibility, specially if it is a lie.
Mr. M on "9/11."

Well, for one, Atheists are naturally skeptical people (why else would the become Atheists in the fist place...) and two, they just do..just like why do Christians believe in a firey bush? And I would REALLY like to see some stats on that please.

No one wants to believe that a man would arrange to have his own country attacked, to improve his public approval rating! Scary thing is? It worked!!!
