In Subiaco there's a place called HomeBase or something (it's right behind the Subi Markets (the fruit and veg one) I think) where you could maybe offer to do a course.

If you're still friends with your lecturers/tutors, you could ask whether you can come in to give a talk about it.

Spread the word of mouth that you have an interior design business amongst your friends. Go to those networking things they have and mix with people.

The SBDC might also be able to help. I'm not sure how old you are, but they have a SBDC for young entrepreneurs as well.

Do you have a website so when people look up interior design in Perth (or where ever you are in WA) easily? Have you also tried to advertise your site like on Google Pay Per Click or something? There's a great local business here in Perth that does that kind of internet marketing stuff called ineedhits - www.ineedhits.com. Their offices are in Perth some where. :)

The WA website could be an inspiration.

The trees and the fishes are not design elements. They are real and a-plenty. Come to us then for designs other than trees and fishes.

Outdoor advertising is very cost-efficient, and lends itself well to the concept I am proposing. Besides, your choice of colors, design, etc on an outdoor ad will give a clue to your prospective customers about your design sense.

Outdoor will not necessarily mean billboards, bus wraps I think would be exciting.

Do you have an office? If so, why not offer some decorating classes, talking about the effects of color and texture, etc., just some general tips to help people see they need an interior decorator. Also, fliers to business for lunch hour workshops on how office decoration impacts customers, or go to the chamber of commerce or equivalent and offer to hold a workshop, they will do the advertizing in that case.

Do colleges have community courses? Offer a one day course. Distribute cards at local paint and hardware stores.
