Because when we ask about God in the "cats" section, they tell us to leave.

I am hardly lurking, I leave that for the religious types.
I am here to talk About religion. Most of the religious want to talk just their specific religion. Like most of the Christers do. They seem to want it to be just a prayer circle.
I think that would be a shame because even if you do not believe the actions of the believers has a very large effect on the world we all live in.
I was also truly amazed when I started answering questions here about how pitifully little most of the religious types knew about their own religions. So here I am to answer a few questions, ask a few questions. To learn some new stuff and to hopefully teach some new stuff.
There is a search questions feature and as you type your question it looks for and displays similar questions.
I think you should enter your question in the search for questions box just to see how many times it gets asked.

Ok... for the umteenth time.
Atheists participate in the R&S forum because Atheism is a religious viewpoint. It is the point of view that there is no God, and that viewpoint is just as valid as any other religious viewpoint.
Also, there is a humanist church. Buddhists are atheists. Some Satanists are atheists. Too, there are many non-religious Christians. Also, spirituality is not tied to any particular religion.
I think you need to begin to understand what religion and spirituality really mean.

lurk lurk...
1. If your brain was not able to previously comprehend it now, then this will be a new fact for it to absorb...if it's capable of absorbing anything besides religion:
All R&S questions get dumped into the main Society & Culture section, which in turn get dumped into the Main page of the site. People are not nessessarly even in this section to see and answer your questions.
2. Because people like you keep talking about us, that is what made me look here in the first place, after I saw questions like this from the MAIN page of the site.
If you don't want us here, then people like you need to stop asking questions that make us post in self defence.

I don't know. I have answered many a christian question, and pointed them to the scripture they were looking for.
I have also answered questions on Buddhism and Dalai Lama, and of course some Roman Catholic questions.
I was raised Roman Catholic, so I can answer some of these, with what I was taught, and how I felt.
I have a lot to offer, and my advice is as good as any.
Why do you not want to hear the viewpoints of atheists? Does it bother you in some way?

perhaps R&S would desire to be considered a *particular* area and you will desire to bypass a analyzing comprehension attempt as a manner to learn front. The attempt may well be to study by each and every of the questions that get asked many times after which you would be judged on your ability to entice close the best judgment at the back of such techniques bending thoughts as why atheists are right here.. you may additionally would desire to write a critique of that poem that gets published each and every 2 days... that Adonai, I embody component.

Lurk? That has some disturbing connotations..like I'm hovering like a bat waiting to strike. I'm active here, I don't LURK. I'm here because I like to answer questions and ask a few. Just because I don't believe in religion doesn't mean I'm not interested or that I don't have something to offer. And yes I am spiritual in a non-religious way. Look it up.

I am a real atheist and I do not believe in god or gods nor religions. As far as spirituality is concerned I do have spirit and I have spirituality but not in the sense that you would define it.
I don't do the convert thing, you can stay as you are as far as I am concerned or care.

Because they have a lot of faith in what they believe, they are zealous about it, they religiously say their mantras, and they seek to gain acolytes to their religion.
And they are in complete denial about all of it.
Just ask them.
The more they do what they do here, the more religious they are becoming. But they won't admit it because they are:
1) emotive when accused of such,
2) the most unscientific with what they've decided to believe,
3) lazy in scholarly approach,
4) Committing themselves to the brainwashing that they've adopted.

Obviously they are trying to convert us to nothing. Hence they don't believe in anything.
Seems like a waste of time to talk about a God you don't think exists.
Extra emphasis on the word "LURK".
