Fifty years from now will organized religions be less prevelant? And what about the minority religions in the U.S., such as Wicca---do you think they will grow in popularity over the next fifty years.

Nat--I'm glad you are so devoted to what you believe, but there just can't be a perfect "church"--because churches are designed by and filled with imperfect people who make mistakes.

50 years from now they will be much less prevalent I believe. With science and technology advancing so fast, there will be enough facts available to eliminate the myths of religion.

At the rate they are going... I can see most organised religions with their stubborn attitudes begin to fade away to nothing. Just as the Religions of Egypt, Greek and Norway did. Hardly anybody worships Horus, Zeus or Odin any more.
Pagan religions will begin to grow and expand, as they are more focused on being in harmony with the world around them, not bend it to fit one or two little books. Those that try to bend the world, will feel the world wrath backlash like how a rubber band springs back or in the case of the earth natural disasters resulting from polluting the earth and landscaping rivers and shores without understanding the mechanics of a river or ocean.

I think that more people will go to the smaller, less known, religions, such as Wiccan because the church keeps letting people down.

One.) I doubt we'd be here in 50 years...
Two.) I WISH there would be some changes but I doubt there'd be any...
Three.) If there ARE some, I hope it's for the better of mankind, not just their followers...
Four.) Don't really bother me, unless there becomes some sort of Theological Empire coming around...then I say we form the Rebel Alliance and build the Death Star before they do...(seriously though...)

In fifty years I don't doubt that the video game religion will be the most prevalent. That or agnosticism.

well according to an article i read in the michigan law review, islam isnt an organised religion except in places like saudi and iran, but even then its not as organised as we think of it...
but anyways,
io think minority faiths will be stronger in the future organisationally, but maybe their adherence will be weaker, as the present youthful generation is being engrossed in tv/games etc- im one of them,
the answer will lie in to what extent peer pressure will normalise these people into the mainstream.

what i really think is that religeous tention will continue to grow and people will continue to more and more blame the root of the worlds unrest and wars on religeon .. and then eventually i think there will arise a charismatic figure that will offer a new philosophy to tie all beliefs together in peace ...

i hope it dies out and people believe in the devine self,or God within guiding us individually to do whats right and use a little common sense we should all just practice selfless love and compassion and mercy and you need no religion to do that.they say we all contain good and bad thoughts, just feed the good thoughts

Those that cannot face the reality of their ultimate demise will always be with us. Religions will need to become much more liberal, or they will continue to lose followers.

Heavenly Fathers Organized Church is on the Earth today. His Church is perfect. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I know it to be the true Gospel of Jesus Christ.
