I fish mainly in Ohio. But I've fished all over the eastern seaboard. The pull on the line is awesome. The search for the fish is a challenge. There are so many things to learn about fish biology and the water biology. You can fish a lifetime and never stop learning about nature and the world around you.
You also learn about the people who you fish with. How they act under certain circumstances. Both good and bad. What kind of patience a person really has. You can learn all these things just from fishing. Besides, there is nothing more peaceful than being out on the water.

I fished Minnesota all my life until I learned that real fishing was in the Lower Michigan and the great lakes, Huron to be exact, you can't beat it.
Walleyes run from two to twelve pounds on every stringer and the Salmon, it's too much to explain and the trout and Bass are unbelievable.

Why do I love to fish? The same reason I love to breathe, I suppose, it's something to let me know I'm alive, it's a connection to so many things... that line doesn't just connect you to a hook and bait and (hopefully) a fish, it connects you to the water that you fish, to the body of water itself, and in a sense, to the entire rest of the world, but I'm getting philosophical.

What state? Slightly deranged... err, Florida.

I hunt trout in the wild creeks and rivers up in the mountains in Virginia where most people are afraid to go. I call it hunting because you have to stalk the wild trout like you would stalk a deer. If it sees you it will spook and be gone.
The trout is the king predator in its realm, and I like being able to go into the trout's world, kill it, and eat it.
