Do you think its cheating to have sex with someone when you and your bf/gf are "taking a break" or "taking time off" away from each other?

That's a decision I would think needs to be settled between the two of you. If it were you bf/gf that did it would it bother you or do you think it OK? As for me, personally, we were taking a break, I would think the break was to decide if we wanted to be together or not, so I would think it was cheating. Then after that 'break time' we would decide to stay or stray. Can't have cake and eat it, too.

very tricky.
Would you want to sleep with someone if your hearts with the person your taking a break from?
In all honesty, I dont think its cheating, BUT its not a clear BREAK UP so, yes, others would classify it as cheating,
a break to me is when you need you time, to analysis a problem, clear the air or think what does eachother really want. It shouldnt be an open ender to go be with people whilst you have the chance.
Your still committed right? You'd still intend dating them after the break? Why complicate things. and believe me, no matter how clear it was that it was a break, the other half will get more upset and betrayed than anything else.
I wouldnt like it if I was spending the time with friends, catchin up on me things, and found out he was rooting around having fun!

dude, you're either dating, or you're not dating. What's this "taking a break" stuff? and how do you explain things to your "taking a break" sex fix on the side? Hey, you really do It for me babe, but NOT quite as much as my REAL gf who I'm just taking a little break from right now. Unless the girl on the side is a HO it probably won't work.

no unless you 2 agree not to have sex with someone else and you find out she did, thats cheating. Otherwise a brake is a brake from each other, your free to do what you want unless you have an agreement like that.

if you were planning on getting back together...i would think so. i know i would be hurt and the trust would be gone. and then i would think..you needed a break from me to screw some other girl? so a lot of things would run around in my head.

Take the commitment one step further... imagine you're married, not just dating.... When you "take a break" from your spouse, and sleep with another, is it cheating?....

there is a simple test......would you tell your bf/gf about what you did??
