Anyone try cutting up bluefish bait and use it in the piers? I fish in an inlet off the Atlantic Coast, haven't tried cutting a bluefish yet however was thinking about it for my trip during August. There should be a load of bluefish out there and hopefully my kastmaster will succeed. =] thanks.

cut up blues would make an excellent bait, but just about any cut up fish as long as its fresh will also......good way to cut one up if it is small ,I do this using pin fish,is to cut head off then slice the body in half going center way straight to the middle of the tail..which will leave two nice size peices of bait.....that way it leaves the tail flapping in the water and leaves a good scent trail........

You could catch bluefish on cut up bluefish. They are aggressive feeders and will eat any oily fish in the water including bluefish.

Bluefish is oily. The sharks should be all over it on the piers.
