AAAAH!H!!!! I think he's older than my dad!!!! I'm an idiot because I gave him my number because I didn't think he would actually memorize it! (plus I'd be seeing him all the time and I don't want him to give me crap for giving him the wrong digits). Anyways, I'm pretty nice to him when I see him and I thought it would be cool if he could teach me to lift weights. But NOOOO now it's weight lifting and DINNER.... EEEEWWWW he's old and ugly... Why does he even think he's in my league?!!! I'm not sure what his intentions are though... is this a date or just friends hanging out?? What do you think? Also, how can I let him down easily????? Thank you!

It's a date!

He thinks he has a chance because you gave him your NUMBER! To most guys, this automatically means "Date" (and "she wants me") - you don't just hand out your number to some guy you want to "work out" with...

Try to talk him down to just "lifting weights" - make up some lame excuse if you have to. After that, just let him know that all you want is a workout buddy - if he doesn't take the hint, then you might have to tell him off (or find another gym).

In the future, don't give your number out so easily - make the guy work for it ;););)

Your first mistake was giving him your number. When that happens, stand your ground. Just say "no, I'll take yours instead, and if I'm comfortable I will call YOU". Don't give your number out to complete strangers - especially strange, creepy men. Just let him know you aren't comfortable dating anyone his age.

It would be a date! Don't so it! uuhhhggg! Just tell him something came up and you can't go, or just don't go to the gym that day, and tell him you were sick. Or, bring friends with you to make a point. Preferably a few girl friends and definitely guy friends....

Dinner?
Sounds like a date to me.

If you're not attracted to him at all, and its obvious you're not, just tell him honestly. There's no other way to get around it.
