I got a speeding ticket (49 in 35) however the cop put on my ticket that I was driving a dakota when i was actually driving a dodge ram 1500. Is it possible to get this thrown out in court?

Nope

As a law enforcement officer I have written many tickets. One ticket I forgot to put the drivers licence number on the top of the ticket, and they still took normal procedure on it.

But if you want to fight it question the radar unit. When was it last tested? When was it last configured? Is the Officer who ran the radar certified. Stuff like that.

Good Luck

Probably not.

Especially if he got the year, tag, brand, color, ect. correct.

To the person above. I dunno how it works in your area. But our department keeps up on things like radar certification and I have never seen a ticket beaten by attacking the radar. Especially since the officer usually observes you speeding before checking your speed with the radar.

However, if he wants to go that route, it is certainly his choice.

many years ago those types of mistakes would get a ticket dismissed. now the courts seldom dismiss for this reason

no. if the plate is on there you can't. not so much the car as it is the license plate. if you know a cop and give it to him he can take care of that.
