The old ones had a full length belly pan and would float for a while. However they weren't absolutely water tight. I wouldn't want to stake my life on using one for a boat.

Yes but only for a while. The main water tightness compromise would be the heater ducting and rust holes, in the older ones.

The older air cooled ones would give you some time. Shows you how tight their door seals are (as your ears would pop every time you slammed the door shut.)

So long as they're rust-free & the door seals & body-to-pan gasket are in good shape, they can stay afloat for half an hour or more.

yes,if all your door seals are good,and no holes in the floor it will,not forever,but it will,trust me i have
