I've heard that you lose a lot of moisture/become dehydrated on airplanes, and that applying some lotion (vasoline??) in your nostrils improves your overall health and flying experience. Perhaps this also lowers the chance of catching something on the plane. Any thoughts??

I use Neutrogena Sesame Body Oil. All it takes is a drop in your palm, dip the end of your pinky in it, and rub inside your nose. It has no alcohol and is much more comfortable than Vaseline.

Try some over the counter saline nasal spray avoid any lotions or creams as nasal hairs help filter the air we breathe and these would be impaired if you apply any lotions to them increasing your risk of a airborne infection. The reason you have an increased risk of catching something and get dehydrated on a plane is because the air is constantly recirculated and is very dry, so drink plenty of fluids (avoid alcohol and caffeine as these will dehydrate you more)
