Most non Catholic Christians have never heard of the didache and have no clue what it is, which is a shame. Written in the first century, it definitely shows us that early Christianity was nowhere near protestantism.

The didache is a compendium of the teachings of the twelve apostles. It gives directives on baptism, fasting and prayer. It also gives information on the earliest Christian liturgical worship and contains the oldest recorded eucharistic prayers...both of which are Catholic in nature.

As for the previous answerer, the gnostic gospels, which are pure heresy, certainly can't be held to the same standard as these teachings of the apostles themselves.

properly, i don't understand the variety you ought to be "reported Catholic" and not open a bible till your 20's! Your question sounds such as you're assuming that Catholics do not study the bible in any respect! we've the hot testomony besides. The "greater" books have been in the bible and bumped off with the help of Luther because of the fact he had to alter some thing to make himself non-Catholic! Your first mistake is blindly accepting the Catholic faith, Your 2nd. mistake became leaving before you knew why you have been leaving. It sounds such as you have been made to pass to Church as a newborn, grew up and away out of your Catholic faith and now, as an grownup, you're using your grownup innovations to question the religion you maximum in all probability found out in the 2nd or third. grade, on the main as a 9th. grader at affirmation. How a lot interest did you pay to the affirmation type? Did you even pass to type? i'm happy you're exploring your faith, there's a lot to study! i'm additionally happy which you try to understand the Catholic faith as an grownup, you would be suprised on the failings you ignored! Get a replica of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, it provides you with the regulations of the religion alongside with the Scriptural references. in case you do not even understand the Communion of Saints, and the place our custom comes from, you relatively have not got a lot of an concept what the Catholic Church is, definately not adequate to criticize it. save an open innovations, and learn the Catholic faith from Catholics after which you will get the solutions on your questions! purely activate EWTN on your television in case you get it, they have some relatively stable courses that answer those questions. Peace be with you and God Bless!

I'd guess almost none.
How many Christians including Catholics have read the Gnostic gospels?
Close to the same number.

Since Ethiopian and Coptic Egyptian translations were available but ignored until after the 1830(?) copy was found, could it be that the documents from all cultures should have been respected and studied?

The way of life and death, or the two ways were known in Ethiopia and seem to originally be from Jewish teachings.
