Strawberries are a modest source of vitamin C, with one half cup containing about 50mg, just under the recommended daily "value".

This is for strawberries fresh-picked off the plant. Storage and processing of foods destroys their nutrients. Strawberry ice cream is highly processed (and doesn't have all that many strawberries in it); so a serving has negligible vitamin C.

Further, there are several known (and likely many unknown) nutrients that work hand-in-hand with vitamin C. Strawberries may or may not contain them all (as some are unknown). Other fruits and vegetables contain vitamin C, and may also contain these other nutrients.

Since we don't know all there is to know about nutrition, or even the total composition of any food, the wisest choice would be to choose as wide a variety of foods to eat as possible.

But don't deny yourself a bowl of strawberry ice cream, once you've fed yourself with good food!

No. There is realitively few strawberries in strawberry ice cream. Eating ice cream daily will add extra calories and fat, which will do nothing to help you maintain "perfect health" (whatever that is!).

The argument SHOULD be: Fresh strawberries are one good source of Vit. C, vit. C is vital daily for good health, therefore eat fresh strawberries as one of your vitamin C sources daily.

Nice try but no. Strawberry icecream also contains lots of sugar. Besides even if it was healthy, it's never good to just eat that one item. You need a variety of good things everyday.
